Mandala Madness in Europe 44°N

Hi friends,

I'd like to share with you my field of dreams, powered by Mandala Seeds, a fine seed company with good ethics
I've grown many of their strains over the years, and have never been disappointed.
My favorite remains Satori, but for the outdoors out here I usually grow Mandala #1 for its quick flowering time. Hunting season kicks off mid september and I want to harvest before... it's common knowledge that hunters are rippers.
But this year I gotta say I'm kinda bummed out cos the stability just isn't there, all of them started flowering at different times, all past mid august which means there's still a good three weeks to go before harvest. Oh well, the earliest pheno was already harvested 10 days ago and yielded 3/4 pound.

These ladies were planted on July 2sd at a height of around one foot in 10 gallon ghetto smartpots -- 20 gallon soil bags rolled over.
Under those the sandy soil is of decent quality.
During veg they've had an 0.8 EC feeding schedule and 1.2 EC since flowering begun.
Now all are over 6 feet tall.
Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by!

These hybrids grow very fast indeed, but I have to give a lot of credit to Symbio's MycoForce Mycorrhizal Transplanter, that stuff is the chronic!
And it's cheap!

About my raised bed technique:

Cut both end of a 70L / 20gl soil bag clean

And just roll it over itself once

You can actually pack up to 15 gallons of soil into them.
This is what it looks like with a clone planted early august.

This technique works very well if the soil is light, it gives transplants a great kickstart and allows the roots to keep growing underneath. It's also good for channelling the water.
But if the soil is dry then it will need more frequent waterings.

Overall I'm very happy with these, it saves a lot of time, I had this spot of 12 plants ready to rock & roll in less than 4 hours.

And when harvest comes they'll be very easy to take out to leave the spot unpolluted...

Hey mates,

Here's a quick update, pics taken yesterday before the weekly 50 gallon watering.
The girls are packing on some serious weight, we've been lucky on the weather, barely a cloud in all of september
The nights are humid tho and I've had to remove a few nugs with botrytis on them. Also sprayed a gallon of BudRot Stop.

Enjoy!

This 7 footer is a monster. Too bad I can't go to this spot during daytime to take decent photos. This pheno has the exact smell of Durban Poison... and who doesn't love DP ????

Thanks man,
I'll probably harvest gradually in a couple of weeks, depending on botrytis and weather, but not too worried about that... sunny skies ahead
