Bench Top Power light (newbies take notice)

I bought a benchtop power light now available with two 65watt Mogul base Fluorescent spiral bulbs.
"www.designersedge.com" (copy and paste url in a new browser without the ")
This Benchtop power light came with the ficture and two fluorescent spiral bulbs for 46.00 to include the tax US.
The box said each bulb is the equivelant of a 300 watt Halogen bulb.
Thats 600 watt out put power for the cost of two 65 watt bulbs.
I installed this light last night.
I must say I am pleased so far.
It does put out a lot more light than two 40 watt fluorescent tube lights.
I currently use two fictures of 4 tube flurescent lights and they look shaded compared to these two 65watt Fluorescent spiral bulbs
And the bean sprout I placed under it is looking very happy as of this morning.
I think this light will be a great idea for newbies trying to get started on a low budget.
I will let you know how my sprout looks after a few weeks of the use of this new light system.
I plan on buying another for use as vegitation lights.
to keep plants growing good and yet not inflate my electric bills.
Input of others will be great.
I will look forward to reading your comments.

I just placed two more sprouts under this light.
I am sure these sprouts belive they are in the tropics lol
The area all around the plant is lit up like daylight at its noon peek :)
For the price for a low budget grow I think this light is a keeper :)

I use 2 of these between my 6 1000 watters:

You can see one just to the left of the front right hood. They add quite a bit of light to the room.

Mine are 6500k daylight flouros though.

No fancy over priced fixtures here, just get a 6.00 clamp light at home depot
and put a compaq floro in it. Two of these will be cheaper, easier to hang, and have better coverage due to mounting/angle flexability. Buy a compaq floro of your choice, home depot usually only carry warm whites (24k spectrum) so I order mine online instead of driving around looking for hard to find 42w 65k bulbs for veg. These can grow, keep moms alive, clones, seedlings, whatever

The type of bulb that came with my new benchtop would be to large a thread to screw into the socket of this clamp light.
The hood on this benchtop was made to reflect and does a nice job and would cover a 3 x 1 area with no effort.
Much brighter and much better than the fictures for tube fluorescent 40 watt bulbs.
I have seen the fluorescent bulbs that would screw into the clamp socket.
They have them at walmarts up to 100 watt floro.
But the thread to screw it in is still smaller than what has came on my bench top.
in less than 24 hours the bean sprouts under this light system are doing great.
I have used the clamp lights in the past with 120 watt Spot and show grow lights.
Also good for vegitation.
I dont want my plants to grow too stringy so I used the floro.
I imagine the 65watt floro available at walmarts would do a good job too.
However the bench top allows for the bulb to be on its side so it spreads the light down better that way.
3 x 1 is not a bad area to cover with a floro.

images added for a update

images added for a update

I waited a few weeks to return with a update so I could show images of my results.
I will also add yesturday I bought another one of these lights and ballast.

Now that you have all seen the new light system.
Lets look at my results.
This first image was taken of a plant I named creeper.
strain unknown :-(
This creeper had some tough days getting started as my main Mother plants where so much taller.
So I needed a new light just for the creeper to have a chance to grow better.
The leaf on this creeper in the following image shows it is a tad yellow .

This next image show my creeper plant about one week after being under this light system.
the creeper is the first plant on the left.
the other two are from some super good seeds I was gifted from a friend.
I dont know the strain but from the sample bud I tried it has a taste like a orange and made me giggle into laughter lol
I will post more on the other two another time.
I will say I had faith in this new light to even chance these other two to grow under as I only got 5 of these seeds of the orange tasteing beans and if they fail they are gone forever.

Now as the days go by I have noticed the growth of my creeper to accelerate.
Each new stage to grow up is only about 1 half inch apart.

I am very very very pleased with this new light system.
I can imagine 3 of these lights will soon be added to my veg room.
I cannot use larger lights as many here are using.
I also cannot pay higher electric bills.
I know there are many others like me on a tight budget.
So what are we to do?
I had to find a system that is low cost yet still would produce a nice grow.
I feel 3 sets 0f these lights for 9 plants will work great.
Keep in mind these are for vegitation only.
I also like the idea of strainwhore who added them between his larger lights.
for me that would not work as my utility bill would shut me down after the first bill.
Not for getting caught but for going broke rotf lol
I have three nice plants still under 4 sets of 40 watt fluorescent bulbs.
one cool white and one plant fluorescent bulb in each ficture.
These plants are doing very well too.
However I notice the branches grow faster and stronger with the new benchtop lighting than they do with the 40 watt tube lights.
I do appreciate comments.
