Cookies or Better ( Candy Rain Cookie Fam and more )

Its been a while since i logged a grow and feel the most appropriate place to do it would be here. With weedstagram so big now and all the breeders there i haven't had much reason to post here until i noticed something, the culture is missing. I mean its there but its just a washed out version. Seems more like cannabis marketing and inflated egos.

So i've decided to bring it home! icmag! its been a while since i came here from the seed depot! and i've learned so much from this community! i've missed you guys!

Well This thread will be dedicated to my next few cookie or cookie related grows. The reason I have decided to document this on here instead of lets say some of the archive gear i got or some of the Obsolete gear i got is because there doesn't seem to be much on here in terms of cookie fam and with all the hate and hype over them felt it would be great to post here.

First up will be Candy Rain. Candy Rain is Gelato 41 x London Poundcake
I will be popping 60+ seeds (already popped 30) pics will follow. Ill also be posting some pics of some other cookie crosses i got going in the meantime just to throw in some bud porn like a commercial. For example Orange Daiquiri (Orange Cookies x Grape Pie) will be going into flower next week and i just took 36 cuts of Ice Cream Cake (wedding cake x Gelato 33) 2 phenos, and will be throwing that up in the mix as well.

So pull up a chair grab some popcorn and lets take a ride together as i bring you the hype.

Shooting (90%) through my Nikon d5300

Hi brother thanks for tuning in! I knew there would be a lot of mixed feelings on here towards cookie fam, a part of the reason why i decided to do this here, so everyone please feel free to voice you opinions! We can chop it up and watch these girls grow and see what all this hype is about!

What's all this family stuff here on icmag cause it doesn't seem rainbow family at all. Rainbow gatherings are very inclusive inless it's A-camp or some other hippy class warfare. Who's got the best drugs isn't what family is about although it's a bery bad idea to be about that.

Good thread Lan. I got some wedding cake and gelato#33 in the fridge. How many keepers did you find in the wedding cake? Potency? Hermies? Saw mixed reviews on IG..

Curious about the candy rain hype to. You should be able find some good ones in there...

I'm along for the ride tho....

Pulling up a seat. Ive had forum cookies and lime cookies. Both were great but i rode lime cookies hard for a few years and it was time to move on. The forum cut, i let go after one round because of the yield and regretted it as soon as the jar was gone.

oh no you've done that too? i did that before with with a different plant, it's really sad when that happens! i ended up saving bud from that plant only smoking a bit here and there until a year later and it was down to the last bud lmao. It was Chemmando by Cabin Fever Seed Breeders (Grapefruit x Mendo Purps) x Empress kush. Was Blue purple and greenish yellow and super mango tangy tasting. potency was up there too!

Thanks man! glad to have you tuned in! The Wedding Cake x Gelato 33 yielded me two solid keepers and one I'm on the fence on. would have been three solid keepers but i lost number 7.

Number 10 is a solid keeper, Gelato 33 leaning in terms of looks, very purple black fan leaves at finish. but has the wedding cake nose. Gas vanilla.

Number 3 is a solid keeper as well and is super frosty and yields well when squished. Ill get pics of her up. She had the typical duck style fan leaves and gassy sweet terp of most cookies.

Number 5 was almost exactly like number three except gassy grape instead of gassy sweet was also stronger and makes me sweat when i smoke it. BUT this one did express some male parts by week 3 of flower which was easy to pick off and let her finish. I have not ran her again but i loved the smoke so much.

Over all 11 plants 6 hermies the first go around from seed. Im not complaining its kind of expected from these genetics and the plants i got from it were spectacular. to me u just gotta put in a little work checking them from top to bottom first few weeks.

but i do know what you mean about the mixed reviews on ig some people saying they got no hermies out of three packs, but thats usually the same dudes who have #seedjunkyfam in their Bio's

Setup Info

Setup Info

Heres a bit of info about how i plan to grow out the Candy Rain.

Growing Plan

Plan to start them off in cups, transplant from cups to 1 gallons containers, keep them in the 1 gallon containers until they show sex then transplant to 3 gallon containers and veg until they are in my opinion ready for flower. I will be using stakes and not a trellis. I also plan to flip at about 2ft

Lights

Hortilux Power Veg T5's - for while they are still seedlings in cups.

Dimlux 630 cmh's with 3000k bulbs (prefer 3000k over the 4100k) - This will be for veg up until they get transplanted into their final 3 gallon pots.

Hortilux 600w: Dimlux 630w @ 2:1 ratio from end of veg until finish.
The 600's are air-cooled and the dimly will hang in-between

Medium & Nutrients

Medium - Bio Terra which is Cannas OMRI listed Organic line.

Nutrients - Bio Canna Full line (bio vega, Bio flores, bio Rhizotonic & bio boost. In my opinion best vegan organic nutrients u can get. Very simple to use and ph perfect expensive but the quality of the cannabis is unmatched. I used mix my own organic mixes in promix which was great and cheaper but this is just so much more easier and i can tailor feedings to strains or individual plants more easier. also dont have to worry about handling bird and bat shit no more.

I also add some secret ingredients that are organic and probably 99%vegan too. they are secret to me though hehe! heres a clue though, think Pompeii

Pest/Fungas Control

Starting these girls off in a brand new 2x4 tent with shelf. the medium will be pre drenched with boiling water as to kill any fungus gnat larvae that might affect the young seedlings. When i transplant them out of the cups they will be going into a sealed room for the remainder of veg that is ripped apart cleaned and then set back up so its pretty clean in there. After that its up to Nematodes and Womersley to handle the pest management.
No precautionary sprays. In case of an out break before flower i have three weapons, Mosquito dunks, Spinosad and Azamax for extreme situations. all 3 organic with the latter being certified OMRI.
In flower there is no defence just crossed fingers. but to be completely honest the nematodes and womersley have worked fine for past year and a half so I'm sure were all good just have to make sure they medium gets dry between watering cycles. not bone dry but dry.

for fungas i dont have a problem with that so its just up to me to keep a close eye on everything and keep areas around the plants clean.

Temperature & humidity

While they are in sealed room with 2ton mini split i will be having them at a
DAY: 77f 70%RH
Night 70f 55% RH

once they are moved to final room i will have a little less control but will still be in the optimal range. I have a room that has a 4x8 and a 4x4 inside. this room is cooled by a 14,000 btu air conditioner venting outside. the tents draw in this air and the filtered air from within the tent is vented back into the room while the air from cooling lights is vented outside in summer or into the rest of the house in winter.

In winter controlling temperature and humidity is no problem but this summer I've had temps go up to 80 which is a bit higher than i like inside the tents.

if everything goes to plan i should have these ready to flower in september so we should be ok with them finishing in November.

If You guys have any questions let me know. this is all i can remember about my setup for them off the top of my head.
