What are your thoughts on the war in Iraq?

I am personally glad Saddam Hussein has been captured, but I was against the pre-emptive war from the start and I was never convinced Saddams WMD posed a serious threat to the United States, and where are those WMD anyway they kept telling us about? Even David Kaye and Collen Powell admit now its becoming clear they are not there to be found, much less in any kind of quantity. I do plan on voting for another candidate other than Bush this year, as we need someone to lead the US in a better direction.

Anyone seen Bin Laden:confused:

Peace my friends, and thank you for stopping in and viewing my thread.

Its all about the oil....

Its all about the oil....

No one will convince me that this is anything, but about oil. Bush's earliest ties have been to this industry. I'm not saying there weren't ties to the terrorist responsible for 911 but we would not have gone in there with such military might if they weren't sitting on the oil fields. As to how long we will be there? As long as it takes to set up a puppet regime that is american-sympathetic and will give us concessions in the future on oil aquisitions. Everyone knows that the US could not run without oil, and with it's limited amounts RAPIDLY being depleted.....draw your own. I'm not even saying that the president wasn't acting in the best long term interest of the US - just that we are not there for the specific reasons given to the public.;)

I'm not paranoid or a consipiracy theorist - but...just because your not paranoid doesn't mean they are not watching you!:p

Hey pro, thanks for the reply. I do not think your opinions are conspiracy based. Anyone with half a brain realizes Haliburton got first dibs on the Iraq oil because of Dick Chaney. The soldiers themselves do not let this fact escape them either.

peace:)

I think!

I think!

I seriously think that over the years the Majority of people in the US have Been Brain washed .well i would like to think that!.i mean ,i dont think that Americans could be so Thick as to Believe the Manufactured News etc that is constantly comin from the White house.

The war in Iraq is like most modern wars....its Financially driven,But this War in Iraq was more than WMD.of which they have yet to find. This war was one mans son finishing off his fathers job!

All those Deaths Iraqis,Americans alike ,and they are still dying today ....and this will continue in that region for Centuries to come..

All those People who have come to see Unemployement in the States since Bush has came to power ....it stands itself around 2.9m maybe im wrong ..

But the fact of the matter is ...The Real reason that the push against Terrorism in my View was the 9/11 attacks,But yet it seems to have slipped out of the big picture.surely the US Military and the people of the US see this.what started as a mission against The Taliban ,and Osama Bin laden has financed Bushes Private War against Sadam .
The War in Iraq was wrong!
Sadam's regime was wrong!
9/11 was wrong!
i could go on and on.But the Facts are Before us.and remember.

"History is written by the victors!"

WAR IS WRONG!
PEACE!
UNC.

But it's not Bush's war... it's much bigger than that... and it all started before the WW1... totalitarist idea that gained too much power... what we see today is just a small peace of this all...

Thanks for the links. Your right that much of that info can be depressing, the only solace would be that eventually tyrannical regimes are always overthrown by internal revolution. It might even start with the smaller issues - such as civil disobedience at laws that are unjust and not in the publics best interest.:D
