Is progress holding back progress?
We live longer therefore we hold onto the old ways longer.
Often for no reason.
Analog over digital. Silence over noise.
Beating rocks together to get a signal.
Beats trying to fish on the freeway.

Slavery:

Anyone who finds slavery of interest as a moral, social, or historical issue - that's "issue" meaning issue, not "issue" as a synonym for 'problem -' should at least read the wikipedia page on slavery to get basic information and context. Oddly, slavery only seems to be a subject of interest in the American context, everyone else seems to have a Get Out Of Jail Free card.

First case of a whistle blower law in the US was for scum from Rode Island with a navel background.
Was to have been supporting Gen Washington with navel action against the British.
He abandoned his tasked mission and went sailing off enrich himself in the slave trade using the men and ships intended for the protection of the country.
