few weeds in poop

Lurked around long enough to make some freinds, so will try and commit to some kinda ongoing report here.

Mostly organic soil except maybe for a few mineral amendments, but won't go there. I am a cheap bastard too and my current spot sux but have grown trees before and will again one day.

I grow from seed and make seed.

Right now mix is 2 parts each perlite, vermiculite, and good organic potting soil, 1 part earthworm casings.

Have gotten 3 topdressings so far of dry amendments in party cups with no drainage.

Light is two 4x overdriven four foot flouros in shiny shoplight fixture. 256 watts total.

Started with 19, have culled 3 males so far cause not making seeds this run...just testing new space.

I prefer sativas, the longer flowering the better. I have yet to get my own pure sativa yet, but I will. Still come across a few heavy leaners now and again. Few Cherry Malawi, Blue Mystic x White Widow, and others in there, will post final count and strains after finished sexing.

Enough rambling, I hope everyone, myself included makes it through their grows with no interruptions...whether emotional, physical, or political.

Sorry it took so long to update, life keeps getting in the way.

Thanks all for the nice comments.

So kept 5, 3 bmx, one cm and one Durban Poison x 'clips'

rest went outside to finish for freinds.

Laid them on their sides in one gallon pots and tied a few and broke a few.

Still aways to go but look fine to me. :joint:

A late update but very happy after 2 month cure. :joint:

Test grow went fine so on to the seedmaking, so far got all these above ground:

4x C99....light feeders still trying to cope with my mix. They will get with the program or get left behind. This sometimes happens when I grow other peeps seed.

There will be some clones going in flower soon as I find my male. I got more babies up too.

My homemade lacto bacilli extension, some bokashi bran, fermented plant extracts, and a few other things brewing in my incubator. :abduct:

Not really happy, as this is supposed to be a seed run and all I am getting are fems. :fsu:

I got pix but getting bored of posting them with nothing in flower. I guess there is a limit on how many I can post too.

So so far, all from seed of course.

BSHW = fem
Congo = fem
big Thai = fem
little Thai = fem

Those were my 4 main hopeful crosses, of my backups:

All 4 C99 F3's are fem.

2 side projects I got 9 fems out of 12 seed. :wallbash:

Other than that, they all fine.

Still waiting on my 3 Afghans, 2 Mexicans, 2 Columbian Golds, and my only Pursang Haze to show, few are still babies.

Prolly gonna pop more seed. :1help:

pulling up a seat for this elephant man, i have heard lots about the use of lacto bacilli, can you tell me about your experiences with it, and also if you have ever used symbiotic root fungi or mycorrhiza?

Thanks for stopping by Growshower.

Yeah, I use myco, bacteria, nematodes, enzymes, even some anaerobic stuff.

I imagine it's quite a war zone in there, I dunno who wins in the soil, but the plants seem to win either way.

Myco by itself is great, my enzymes are more for a different purpose. I have to compost indoors, in a tiny space, while reusing soil, and it's too hot for worms. :wallbash:

I love a challenge though.

Myco can go a little nutty with ph and other chit if your soil isn't cooked long enough. I'm just looking for a faster composting process, preferably during the grow...lol. :pointlaug

I've been playing with this tea or topdressing lately, they like it alot.

4 parts earthworm casings
4 parts unsulphured molasses (mine has no added Mg)
1 part seabird guano
1 part fish meal
1 part high P guano
4 parts jersey greensand
1 part langbeinite (k-mag, sul-po-mag)
3 parts kelp
1 part gypsum
lacto bacilli (homemade)
enzymes (barley tea, FPE extracts, baker's yeast)

after steeping

1 part garden lime

i will have to try that recipe, i am new to organic soils, teas, composting but i feel it necessary in order to grow the most natural plants possible, the way whatever power put them there intended.

anywho,
where may i go about purchasing these beneficial organisms? i have heard higher end shops but are there any valid sources online?

My fave would be EM3 if I can get it, it's not available in my country though. You can find EM1 in the USA. I use pond clarifying products also, just make sure they are organic and barley based. If you don't want to make your own fermented plant extracts, look for papaya and pineapple based digestive aids at your local health food store. Baker's yeast can be found at any grocery store.

Just watch for high sodium, magnesium, manganese, things like that and you'll be all good.
