March 05, 2019 Last year on April 20th, Indiana NORML and supporters from around the state gathered in front of Governor Eric Holcomb's residence to demonstrate support for cannabis reform in Indiana. What was clear from the rush hour traffic passing by is that legalization efforts have both the support and enthusiasm of the public. Just about everyone driving by honked and waved or offered thumbs up signs, while some even found parking and joined the event.
Not everyone has time or energy to be as involved as they would like, even though they support reform. But on 4/20, if you can join us in front of Holcomb's state-issued residence, you can help us show that cannabis isn't just a fringe issue but rather an issue that constituents far and wide are willing to show up in numbers to support. He might not be brave enough to join us on the sidewalk or even be in the neighborhood that day, but know that with media coverage and his staff present, he will be apprised of the attendance at the event taking place on the steps of his home.

Right now, there are families in Indiana whose children were separated by DCS because of cannabis prohibition.

Right now, there are Hoosier patients who are being denied the therapeutic use of cannabis because of prohibition, or who are living in fear because they are using it in a state where it is illegal.

Right now, there are individuals being processed through the criminal justice system for the possession of something widely accepted by society.

There are even Hoosiers who are no longer Hoosiers because they were compelled to become cannabis refugees, moving to other states where they can legally access cannabis to use for their conditions.

Not all of those people can make it to our events, but you can help carry the torch of reform for all those unable to show up to present the case for change.

So, invite your friends, invite your family, arrange carpools, or do whatever you can to help pack this event and let Holcomb and state legislators know that public support for this issue wont fizzle out like the 2019 cannabis bills did during the 2019 General Assembly. The support is here to stay, and is only going to grow in the coming years.

Check out the event page on Facebook, click "Going" (even if you can't make it, it helps boost the event into people's news feeds), and invite your friends!
The event will take place at 4750 N Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN, and will start around noon. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Indiana NORML

I can't go but I hope progress is made. Indiana is fucked when it comes for weed though. Hopefully within the next 20 years.
