Diesel Ryder SOG in a 150w HPS Mini Fridge

B

BudBag

Looking good. I love the mini fridge. I saw a great mini about 4' high, it had a separate freezer section. No front doors.... So I drove away. Now im on the look out for another like it.

Please check this headbud... the area around the middle of the picture that looks a bit cloudy might be mold.

Otherwise - great looking plant.

Yeah I saw that after posting and looked all ove that bud. Couldn;t find a thing so Im thinking it might have been something on the lens. I had scoped out out every bud on the plant prior to taking the picture to and didnt see anything. I sure appreciate the concern though, would be a shame to let this beauty get ruined!

Ill have a good smoke report of some dry, somewhat cured bud after this weekend!

Peace

DAY 42

Plant Stage: Flower
Light Cycle: 20/4
Light: 150w 2000k HPS
Current Medium:
Sunshine Mix w/ 1 Cup of Bone Meal
Current Nutrients: Schultz Plant Food (10-15-10) two droppers full per Gallon & Molasses 2Tbls per Gallon Every Other Watering
Strain: Diesel Ryder Autoflower

Day 42 is upon us and the ladies are swelling up very well. I switched them all around a bit and bumped some up closer to the lights throughout the week. Apparently I moved a few a little too close because I noticed today that some of the leaves were curling up and getting crispy at the tips....ops :( I moved them back down and arranged the plants to be in the same positions they usually are when I take my update picture. Ill post all 8-10 pictures at the end in the last post, it should look pretty cool. Here they are just before watering on Day 42.
picture.php

Since I had them out to water them, I decided to snap a couple more shots of my 4 tallest and 4 shortest from the side. I'll probably make the side shots a regular addition to the weekly updates now that things are looking more interesting.

My 4 tallest. I am hoping these 4 will give me at least 14g dry or more, with 2-3 weeks to go they should fatten more and the lower buds will hopefully get even bigger as well.
picture.php

And my 4 shortest. Short little fatties.....although I think the "short" outweighs the "fat" on a couple of these :violin:
picture.php

I am kicking myself in the ass now for not sorting my 472 DR seeds from my 2 pollinated ladies Carmen & Regina a while back. See they both were badly stunted and stayed very short, but Regina was this slender gal with a fat main cola & nice long branches with fat buds on them. Carmen was more of a short little thing with more bushiness and less branching. Her stubby branches stayed in close with the cola & eventually formed one big fat bud. It is very apparent now, with a more ideal setup, which of the 2 will be the better yielder. The only problem is that I mixed all the damn seeds together!! haha, lesson learned I supposed. I probably pollinate the nicest looking female next batch and use the old seeds for backups & gifts to friends (local only, sorry :friends:).

So that's it for now, thanks for staying tuned :)
Peace

Haha so sorry guys, I forgot all about promising more cab porn. Usually Im all over it, taking more pictures than I should but this week has been CRAZY busy at work. I will do my best to snap some more shots once I get home tonight.

As far as height goes, yeah I have plenty of room. It almost looks like these are going to stay this height, which baffles me. I dont know how I could have made them stretch more, I kept them about 10" from the bulb until they had 2 sets of real leaves. I have dropped the shelf 1" every time the tallest plant gets closer than 4" to the bulb. Who knows, I think some Apollo11 may be going in there for the next round, and Im sure I will have NO problems with them being short.

More pics soon, and thanks for all the kind words fellas!!

My watering "table" made from a Rubbermaid tub with a piece of adjustable window screen bought for $3 on clearance at walmart! I just set the pots on the screen, water, and let the water drian through the screen into the tub. I can water 3 of the 2 liter pots at a time.
picture.php

I also keep a towel in the bottom of the mini fridge because they tend to drip for a while even after putting them back in the mini fridge. Here is a front shot, you can see the towel at the bottom. Up top is a piece of cardboard used as a visor so when Im standing right in front of the fridge the light is not in my eyes.

Here is a shot with the lights in the room off. VERY little light leaks out. It is pretty much impossible to notice anything out of the ordinary without actually being in the room, which no one but me and my wife ever are.

Thats all I could think to take pictures of, if theres something else you guys were wanting to see just give a shout and Ill see what I can do! :)

nice i have a simular mini fridge that iv had for years that almost like that. im goingto build it for a friend when im done with the build iv got going now. keep up with the great work!!

o i forgot that iv got a good idea for some containers that might be something you would be interested in. theyre 1 gallon cranberry juice bottles. they have a "handle" that would make it easier to move the ladies around. il try and get some shots of them this weekend so you can see. iv got a few collected for the same reason.

alrite heres the pics of the cranberry containers that i mentioned. after thecut they will be 5"wide x6"deep x8"tall. it should be easy to handle with the grip also.checkm out and see what you think.

Very nice Dis!!

I looked all over for something that was about 4" by 4" but now looking at the square footage Im wasting with my 2 liters I could probably go bigger and still have 8 plants in there! The handle would take up some valuabale growing space, but im pretty sure that is would allow for more root room than y soda bottles. Plus you could stack them easily if needed.

Thanks for this pics, Ill do some more looking around at that size container now. I have also bee looking at tree pots, they are all tall & thin, which is perfect for SOG.

DAY 49

Light Cycle: 20/4
Light: 150w 2000k HPS
Current Medium:
Sunshine Mix w/ 1 Cup of Bone Meal
Current Nutrients: Molasses 2Tbls per Gallon Every Watering

Day 49 is here and only 2 weeks to go!!! Things are looking very promising on the larger 4 ladies, and even the smaller 4 are looking very dense. The largest one that I had to do a little LST to has spent some time VERY close to the light. I didn't feel like dropping the shelf and adding foam spacers under 7 plants just to accommodate one so I kept it about 2-3 inches from the light. I rotated most of the plants every day, and you can tell on the largest one because the top leaves all around are nice & crispy at the edges. So far 100% of the buds look amazing with no bleaching or burning. I will keep the plants as close as possible until harvest to soak up as much of those 16,000 lumens as they can!!

Picture time!! Here is the group shot. Notice the majority of the plants are suffering from a little heat stress on the upper leaves. Due to recent company the door to the room has been closed more often than usual, allowing the fridge to reach upwards of 90F for hours at a time. Im not too worried though, as stated before the buds still look amazing!

Side view of the tallest 4. The lower & middle growth of the 3 on the right has really taken off this last week. The biggest improvement on the tallest one on the left would be its main bud on the left side of the plant. It has gotten much taller and MUCH denser this past week.
kolorblind-albums-mini-fridge-picture81988-091709b.jpg

Here are the smaller 4 in a lineup. The 2 on the right wont yeild a whole lot but more that you might think from these pictures. If you could see the top view you would see more bud sites than you would expect after seeing the side view. All short fat buds, probably 6-8 "top" buds per plant.

I sure cant wait to harvest these ladies. I will be buying a house here very soon so this may be my last grow for a little while :frown:, but next I plan on starting 8 Apollo11 gals from seed and run the lights 12/12 after 1 to 1.5 weeks of "veg". i would LOVE to grow more Diesel Ryders and pollinate the best looking female, but the smell is just too much of a risk factor for now. Even though my carbon scrubber is/was working 10 times better than last run, as I'm getting towards harvest time the smell has increased significantly in the past week. It hits you when you enter the house which is not how I prefer it. The wife and I are quite the homebodies, but when unexpected knocks come ot the door that could mean problems.

I will certainly start another thread just as soon as I get another grow going. I will have some time to make some modifications and maybe even build another cab for a clone/mom box. Please let me know what you think of my grow and my ladies, and feel free to shout out any estimates on final weight for fun. My guess as of now is somewhere around 3 to 3.5 ounces dry. Here's hoping!!

Peace

It looks like everything is still going great in your fridge! I'm really interested to see how much the different phenos end up yielding and the difference in quality of smoke, flavor, etc.

Speaking of smoke reports, how about a final yield and smoke report on that A11. You seemed convinced enough to try just the A11 the next grow and I'm wondering why :)
