Exactly as the title asks, can tropf sensors be used in a straight perlite media? I plan on growing some large plants in 5-7 gallon cloth pots and wanted to set up a blumat system for them.

Anyone try this?

Thanks y'all!

I doubt it.

I'd like to know what percent of perlite, if any, would be useable with blumats. I was planning on about 40% perlite, 30 soil and 30 coco.
Hopefully someone with blumat experience will chime in.

The carrot should be buried in pure coco or Promix to sense moisture accurately, air space/cavity will wreck havoc on the ability to control run-aways.
