hi everybody,

figured that id start a journal to keep record of everything. this is a joint venture of me helping a friend out and trying to teach them some of the stuff i know. this is going to be their second time ever so there may be mistakes but overall im pretty confident in them.

for hardware going to be running a 5x5 gorilla tent, 315w cmh combo'd with a lumigrow pro 650, going to be dwc with possibly some coco grown if needed to fill space, trying to stick with one method if possible but the more experience the better for them.

for genetics going to be running jah kush,grape ape, possibly mothers milk,gsc, or something else havent decided that out yet but have some good picks to choose from.

there are 2/3 that are larger plants than the rest those will be taken out soon.

these are all fresh that are going in here so the two on the right just got there first feeding so there a little light and not 100% yet.

room temps are now being held at mid 80s rh upper 40% ferts are an inorganic dry mix that im trying out along with a few additives like kelp humic an a few other things.

this is a legal grow.

this was there first time, there were some mistakes but they learned a lot and it wasnt a total failure. there was another plant and it hermed an pollinated both and there was some mistakes on drying/curing so that didnt go well (i had no part of that)

this was done under a old 400w hps. i didnt get to help out till this was already flipped so it didnt get filled out as much as it should have for being under the light solo for most of its time, as the plant that hermed got removed. the yield was low due to not using the whole footprint but still looks decent for a first time.

the plant in the middle of the tent(on post above) will likely stay if i remember correctly its a blue dream and the clones are just on the new fert mix but are looking like there loving it. the gsc directly behind it and the other to the left*i cant remember what it was* will be gone.

here is today 27th, there isnt a ton of growth but i think you can see a difference.

got over to check the ladies out they had some root rot from temps, so were just going to coco only. hate having to change mediums this late but its better/easier than dealing with that battle.

also going to just veg the 3 larger plants bluedream,chemdog,gsc, in here an flower them in here due to things being pushed back from the rot. normally id just trash some of the ones that were pretty gone but i want them to get the experience to fix issues vs just replacing them with fresh plants. the chem and gsc need of some cal/mag so that should be fixed soon.

also added a couple mothers milk there pretty leggy at the moment but should come around pretty fast with all the light in there and being topped soon. also might add 1 more gsc just to help fill the space and cut veg down so we can get to the good part, flower. pics incoming soon

jan 5, the chemdog is having a hard time coming back around from the rot an cal mag. It will come around just taking a bit longer than wanted. Also added an extra grape ape an gsc they are straggly from taking a bunch of cuts an over veg so nother week they should be good an all filled in. The small stuff will be moved out.

8th, still growing nothing really exciting just giving them time to fill out the space and get the two new plants to fill in. also got a new humidifier as the rh is low here now its keeping steady around 50% the small humidifier just couldnt keep up and only lasted under a day then it would drop to 10-20%. at least the 6g res should last a few days now.

hopefully in a week or so should be ready to flip an trim everything up.
just want to get these into flower so thats why were adding some of the larger plants vs just vegging longer an bigger. each day they are looking a little better than the last so the rot looks like its getting taken care of and there getting used to their new medium. you can tell the blue dream from the last pic to now is getting the leafs to start to perk up, same with the gsc has a bit of the purp going back to green.
hopefully the chem comes around or its being moved till its more healthy.

alright little update from the 18th, the ladies were looking great but had bumped up the ec to 1.2 and none of the ladies enjoyed it. they got a nice burn which put it back a good week, but such is life just gotta work through em. ec is now being kept around .8-1.0 ec and all are responding and showing new healthy growth, what was burnt was trimmed back some.

also had the far right plant getting some windburn even from the tiny fan near it so thats been moved up an extra 18" and placed the humidifier inside and closed it up. before it was just placed in the room with the tent open, now the plants have responded better an the temps came down a little. will update with some new pics soon they should be looking much better than they are currently.

on the up the chem did turn around and looks great just need em to fill out a little more an were go time. i just wont put them into flower if there not ready as it never turns out what it could be that extra little time can pay for itself in the end. hopefully the next update will be a happy plant update

alright just check on them today an there doing better, added 1 more smaller plant that was for next rd, even for a smaller guy it just looks great. these are what they should normally look like health wise. also added a box around the humidifier as it just blows a bit more than id prefer directly onto the plants, little things like that imo can make a difference.

seeing how the little one is in good health i know that the results can be achieved. just transplanted them to larger pots an watered so there not perky yet.

going to have to exchange the bluelab ec meter just keeps fucking up wont turn on unless you remove the battery an reassemble hopefully that gets fixed.

another update, the blue dream took a beating but is throwing out some fresh healthy growth, the gcs isnt doing anything just stalled and/or stunted so its been moved if it throws out some good growth in the next week it will likely stay for flower but due to it stalling its been replaced by a 1g mothers milk that is being re potted.

the bd has been trimmed so it does look a little thin but will be gtg for flip. hopefully within the next week. first pic was from last week sometime 2nd is current.

the chem came back looks great trimmed up the bottom some but will be slightly done a little more. chem is on the back right. dream is middle left

alright everything looks so much better. the bd could use a few more days but the rest are ready so its time to flip them. the one gsc is likely not going to be kept its just not turning around so trash is likely where she'll go.

blue is turned up to help slow the stretch down some so we will just watch an see how that plays out.

well for today's update i was very surprised.

these girls looked great an had put on quite a little growth spurt, so now u can see there clearly into the stretch phase so soon well get to the part that everyone wants to see.

we swapped the 4" for a 6" as it just needed a slight boost to have temps exactly where we wanted them.

they will also have another light trim or two depending on how they run.

update,

ladies look great still growing and reaching for the sky. due to that wont be retrimming till a later date as idk how much stretch is left an i dont want to run into that issue which there already close to there.
started showing some small flowers. they are hungry as they are now eating quite a bit more bumped feed with out any issue so we will just watch an see how much they prefer, i think the bd is going to be the one that first shows for feeding to much the rest look like they would handle more than her.

we will put some stakes up to help support them soon, the issue is going to be having to put the stakes in only one the very outside as the root mass is ridiculously dense, something im not going to complain about.

got busy an forgot to update, 21st

everythings going good re trimmed some stuff and pinched a few tops to help stop any more stretch, everything looks good could really smell them after handling them while trimming.

they are putting on some nice frost even the underside is pretty frosty.
gotta raise up the led a little more or turn it down i can see a very light bleaching but that should be easy.

did a quick stop by yesterday to check em out, they had a slight fading from needing more N so that was adjusted. it was also decided to just pull the grape ape out as it was getting no light, being smothered wasnt doing anything for it. it didnt even leave a noticeable gap after being removed so that shows how much it was being overgrown.

apparently the bd got some heat stress or bleaching idk what happened. none of the other plants have any signs of anything so idk might just be a finicky. i but a pic of the bd was in a rush but think i got a better pic of the cola forming in the middle

been a bit for an update

things still going alright, the blue dream did take a beating from one random day of heat but is doing fine now just got a bit of burnt leafs, the gsc has had to cut way back on the feeding it has some burn but still producing well.

the rest look killer just waiting 2 weeks maybe a little more gotta see how fast they want to go.

nothing to much has changed just flushing the girls, with the burn on the gsc an bd well see how it turns out after being trimmed.

they are super dense and flopped all over, should have been trellised but w/e.

everythings been chopped for a bit just hanging around now. the flowers looked good that had no issues the burned ones are soso.
