Your worms should be fine.

Coffee & egg shells make a wonderful compost that the worms would love to digest.

May I suggest a book called Worms Eat My Garbage for you to pick up and read?

If you add birds to the mix, they will eat the egg-shells and pick through the coffee grounds, spreading it all around. Also they add their own manure to the mix, which definitely adds fertilizer value.

•Coffee grounds are about 2% nitrogen by volume.
•Grounds are not acidic; the acid in coffee is water-soluble so the acid is mostly in the coffee.
•Coffee grounds are close to pH neutral (between 6.5 - 6.8 pH).
•Coffee grounds improve soil tilth or structure.
•Coffee grounds are an excellent nitrogen source for composting. They have a C/N ratio of 20/1. In informal trials with OSU/Lane County Extension Service, Compost Specialists sustained temperatures of 140 O-160 OF have been recorded for up to two weeks (when coffee grounds were 25% of the material in the compost pile by volume).
•Anecdotal evidence suggests coffee grounds repel slugs and snails in the garden.

Great info MM, sorry out of rep.

You don't know how many times I have heard that used coffee grounds are too acidic.
Your post makes sense. Guess I could have proved that myself with pH test

Double strength in the Aeropress.

Bring it down to drinkable with half and half. (Had to quit the cream. It pours on the pounds.)

Almost to the age of decaf. Enjoy it while I can.

I use the grounds on the roses or in compost. Not too much elsewhere.
