what in the world is phosphite technology

Phosphites are similar to phosphates and the former slowly convert into the latter. Phosphites or the salts of phosphorous acid sometimes serve as fungicides (a bit outdated but rather environmental friendly due to their complete degradation to phosphates/phosphoric acid over time). The occasional use as fertiliser is not to recommend due to the too slow degradation into the phosphate (according to Wikipedia). Also, phosphites may have negative effects on plants...

The word 'technology' is likely meant as pure eye candy for potential customers :D .
