It will be fun for sure. I'm ok with it being just a "spectacle"...we haven't seen an event this interesting since UFC 1. I don't care that they are making obscene money for it. More power to them. I'm still interested in the result (I won't get to see it live).

Just my opinion, but Jr. is very hard to hit. He has slowed down a lot, but he it's still like trying to punch a fly. I don't think Jr. will escape unscathed, but unless CMG ko's him, I don't imagine the points going his way.

I'd love to be proved wrong, because I can't stand Mayweather Jr! Every time he opens his mouth I want to puke. But I think CMG has stepped into this, thinking he can ko Mayweather. I don't think CMG thinks he is going to win a decision against a boxing specialist...one of the best to ever do it. Even if you dislike him, you can't deny Jr. that.

If that is the case, CMG has bet it all on Ko'ing Mayweather. I'd love to see it. I'm actually rooting for it lol. But if I HAD to put money down, it would be on Jr. Just like if Jr stepped into the MMA ring, I'd bet on CMG.

Does anyone think CMG will have difficulty sticking to the boxing rules? Fighters develop automatic muscle reactions, counter strikes etc. I wonder if at some point a leg kick will come out? Not to break the rules, just bc it's a reflex that's been drilled into him. And in the heat of action, sometimes those just come out...

I think by round 3 Conor will be confused, befuddled, frustrated and en route to getting ktfo. Floyd is a lot meaner than he gets credit for. If you're not on his level, lacking in any particular area or can't keep up with the pace he sets he will come forward and beat on you. Even if you land a good shot it's only going to make Floyd more aggressive. Ask Corley or Judah or Mosley.

Keep in mind this is the best pro boxer of this era vs a dude making his pro debut. Conor is a D/F level boxer. We've all seen what Floyd does to C level boxers. This won't be pretty.

I have never seen a fight where Mayweather did anything close to dominate a fight, he's a great technical boxer, but boring as fuck. Running and landing a ton of weak shots to win on points isn't a well rounded fighter. I hope that the aggression of Cmg will force Mayweather to actually fight. Not just play the points game. I don't really care who wins, as long as Mayweather is forced to show what he can do.

You obviously didn't click on the link and you damn sure haven't watched Floyd fight if you think he hasn't dominated boxers. Sure he's had some snooze fests but he's also embarrassed the hell out of championship level boxers...in dominating fashion. He stayed in Canelos' chest all night and made him look stupid. What fights do you think we're boring? Just curious.

As far as his lack of power and how well rounded he is...Floyd is one of the most well rounded boxers in history. It's laughable to say anything different. His timing, ring generalship, foot movement, defense, speed, technical prowess and, yea as hard as it is to believe, his punches win his fights. You can't win a fight without punching. If Floyd had one punch KO power that shit would just be unfair lol. He'd be like a walking super hero. If he had one punch KO power he'd be hands down the greatest boxer ever.

I find it hard to believe that CMG has some sort of punching power that Mayweather has never seen over the last 25 years. If CMG did have that power he would have went into the boxing industry 3-4 years ago and made some real coin.

Mayweather will make CMG look slow and powerless. CMG will be tired out by the fifth round from punching air and wasting his energy on the "Big Punch".

Mayweather wins by TKO in the 7th round.

Mayweather has 100 times better defense against haymakers than anyone in MMA. MacGregor makes MMA fighters look silly because he has options in the octagon. He can't do leg kicks in the boxing ring to open up Mayweather's defense.

He will have to throw his deadly left in a successful combination of punches, which I don't see happening because I doubt he has combinations good enough to confuse Mayweather. Honestly I think his best shot to win is to go for brutal body shots. Anything he aims at Mayweather's face is gonna hit glove, or air IMO.

Hopefully someone gets KO'd though. It's been too long since I've seen a boxing match with a satisfying finish.
