I'm at 7 weeks 12/12 with 2 strains, 4 faceoff og bx2 and 3 lemon alien. Decided to try cheap hps bulbs this grow and got 3 Sabre red 600w hps bulbs for $13 each. Am impressed with their performance. Huge colas, tight buds and deep penetration. Faceoff are 7 feet tall and lights are against the ceiling, yet large "popcorn" buds at the bottom. Here are a few pics from the bottom and will add a cola pic in the morning. First 2 pics are og and last is lemonalien.

Great idea!!!!
I think having a fresh bulb (less than 6 months old) is much more important than an expensive fancy bulb. $60.00 1000 watt HPS new will throw much bigger and tighter bud than a 2 year old expensive bulb all day long. It looks like your finding this out now

Been using $100+ bulbs for 20 years, mostly eye hortilux and use for 2 grows. These sabre bulbs are so cheap i could use 2 per each grow and be much cheaper. They have a blue spectrum and red(i got red), next grow will start blue just before flower and through stretch and switch to red for rest of flower. Will decide after evaluating this harvest.

The cheapest I could find a saber bulb was 49 bucks.....
I was wrong on the price, just looked and not $13, they are $16.95, thought they were $13.95. Got them at the local hydro Growbigogh, located in Gilroy, ca. Actually my wife picked them up and told me $13 bucks, i couldn't believe i was getting a viable grow bulb for that price. Noticed on search they have a "plus" version of the 600 with initial 100,000 lumens, ones i have are 90,000. I should go back and load up on those bulbs!!

I found some digilux bulbs a few months ago on sale for 30$ for 1000's, 20$ for 600's. They had HPS and mh. I bought 5 on the spot. I have gotten hortilux for 60 on Amazon.

I would get some more, maybe they are clearing out their inventory for the newer ones?
