Day 30

Day 30

I just learned that the webcam on my laptop automatically white balances (sort of) under the hps! Shoots great video but pics a little shaky. Really starting to put on weight. I wasn't very optimistic about this run but might turn out half decent. The light on day 8 has nice little buds forming...

Looking good! I've got three large zKittles that are starting to fill in. Have you grown it before? If so how many weeks do you usually let it go?

First time I've seen it. The first light has been on 5 weeks today and not a brown hair yet. Guessing 8 weeks, maybe few days over.

Day 34

Day 34

Still trying to take a decent pic under HPS without buying a real camera...

I unfortunately need to report that one of my Zkittlez has popped a few male flowers! I hope yours are fine.

Day 39, Half way through week 6

Day 39, Half way through week 6

I'm almost ready to call the 6.2L pots a failed experiment. They look happy, healthy, and the quality appears top shelf, but the heavy growth and swelling that should have started is anemic at best. , the trichomes are starting to get cloudy on the first light and they should be finished in 10-14 days. They still have some time to bulk up but I know but it won't be a lot. My rule of thumb says indicas will finish 3 weeks from the first pistil turning and these girls should be close. The second light is about a week behind. My run off is good and a lockout is the only thing I know of that could stall them this late in the game.
There are a lot of factors that could contribute to this including a strain I've never grown before, root health that I know took a hit from my early heat problems, and lack of CO2. The week 3 defoliation didn't seem to agree with them and they never grew much leaf after it. The next 2 lights, flipped on Sept 22nd and 28th, missed 90% of the heat issues and have had much more consistent CO2. They will be a more accurate gauge but I don't think the differences will be that big.
I'm estimating the first 2 lights will pull 600g-700g each when they should be 800-900. I've been very wrong on my estimates before and hope i am again. Everything in my veg room is going in 3 gal pots and I'm doing more zkittles for a direct comparison.

What's your rule of thumb for Sativas?

The Haze clones in my veg room are the first I've done in over 2 years. My rule of thumb is to avoid them. Who wants to watch a plant flower for four months... they can go for ever. Veg room being backed up is usually why mine get cut.
