If anyone has f2's or originals of this hit me up I'd like be informed. Obviously not trying to trade but I want to know if anyone else has the gear or is attempting preservation like me.
I'm trying to get to the chocolate Thai hybrids. But, I have older stock that are more urgent for reproduction at the moment...

grew out three CR seeds a few years ago.
got two ladies:
one was shorter/darker, and after a bit of a cure tasted like raspberry cake thru the vaporizer.
that is, raspberry jam combined with the soft creamy vanilla-tinged sweetness of yellow cake.
(this last bit seems to overlap with there being "sour cream" phenos described elsewhere)

the other taller, longer-budded plant, which smelled like smokey cocoa powder in flower,
after a cure, tasted like pineapple cake- a little less sweet,
and a bit more musky citric than the other pheno...
seems like the cannalope (AKA c99) in the chocolope came thru on this one.
~i had a couple of pineapple phenos in mosca's c99bx1, others were melon~

flavorful strains like these are what vaporizers are for!
gentle up-lifting sativa push effect from both, a little more from the taller one.

nice memory of my time with the strain, and will launch the 7
remaining seeds to attempt an open-poll with whatever i get.
also want to do a cross with my "happiest weed in the world" cut of Double Jam-
hoping for nice quality in effect, taste, and improved/faster yield over the DJ in the
off-spring. couple of tiny remaining bud shots of her post-harvest, in re-veg mode...

and her smoke report from https://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=8443200&postcount=108
" with a little more cure the nug at the top gave a beautiful euphoric ceiling-less high.
the happy social effect reminded me more of the green haze side rather than purple haze's
(stereotypically) introspective effect leanings.
not much energy at all, just a very nice happy feeling (irie?). and the effect wasn't long-lived,
but another vape hit brought you back up.
taste thru a vaporizer was nutty-wood to start, then kinda
"berrywood" purple haze-ish, then ending in sweet berry.
"

the DJ's also another nice vaping strain, and her own flavors/aromas should meld
nicely with the CR's, and hopefully provide a dash more clean/clear sativa energy.

still have some untested raspberry pheno CR x nepalJam cross seeds to try,
as well as pineapple pheno CR x vietBlackThai.

EDIT: six of the seven choc rain seeds germed and are up...

I need to grow this strain! smells like chocolate? No way!

:dance013:

My friends going to love me, when I give them buds that smells like chocolate hehe :)

The name actually has nothing to do with it smelling like chocolate, Im th one that actually named this strain in a contest that was held.

It was named after a popular YouTube music video at the time and I chose it as a play on chocolope and cocoa kush.

I have some of the first seeds ever given out in my collection, eskobar struck gold when he created this hybrid, every one I've ever grown has been excellent in every way.

the male will be used to make F2s, and to pollinate
some bangi hazes, a double jam, and a pure durban (cannabiogen).

First of two doubleJam x chocRain came down yesterday.
grown indoor under natural light.
aroma is dark chocolate-covered espresso beans.

The other still has another week or two to go.
her aroma leans more to the raspberry side of the rain
