Bugs on buds

This is what I'm reading as well now that I started looking into them, I would normally dispatch them when I see them as they have seriously damaged quite a few of our normal plants in the garden.

They seem to like the new shoots the most and I have probably thousands of them in the creeper bush in my garden. Here you can see the damage they do, and in the one Pic you can see the proboscis in the plants shoot.

I am in south Africa, so maybe it could be some weird undocumented sub species. Would be a fitting end to 2020 with the new mutated virus and now a vegan assassin bug:D

That looks like one of the leaf footed bugs. They are listed on the link I posted above.

Here's some more information on leaf footed bugs.
https://ucanr.edu/blogs/blogcore/postdetail.cfm?postnum=14665

They have piercing sucking mouth parts as opposed to the piercing mouth parts of assassin bugs. They are hard to control.
Man thank you very much for the info, they seem to have had a huge population explosion this year in my garden, which makes me a bit worried now after reading the article.

Edit: Went and got a product with Cypermethrin as its supposed to not be as harmful too bees. The bush puts off flowers that the bees like and the blossoms should start opening up in the next 2 weeks, so I need to try get the leaffooted bugs under control so I can wash off as much of the poison as possible before that.

Another tale of possible horror from my garden, was spraying down the aloes too and these guys exploded out of them. I have no idea what they are, they're much bigger then spidermites and I would think they aren't predators as they are grouping together.

I cannot identify those critters for certain, but I would say aphids.

If you have a microscope, aphids have two cornicles on their abdomen. If you see cornicles you are looking at aphids.

Thanks again man, I'll get out a proper macro rig and try get some better close up pics. We have aphids too, these almost look like mini stink bugs but about the same size as an aphid.

I got water from the spring incase the power went out. I guess I brought this crawdad in. I was wondering why water wasn't pouring out like normal. Lol

Ever since I hung bird feeders at my grow spot (the hideout)
and refilled the feeders every other day (important!) I have had very minimal damage to my girls from bugs....

Sure, it costs money and effort, but it's worth it to me...
