"Reaching out to support and sincerely listening to those who are suffering constitute the actions of a bodhisattva. Nichiren Daishonin describes bodhisattvas as those who care for others more than themselves and who impart good to others and bear the brunt of evil themselves (cf. WND-2, 201).

It's not as much the words we use but our tone of voice, facial expressions and body language. Choose your words carefully however.
I think most conflict is really a failure to communicate so pray for understanding because if your heart is pure your intent will be positive.
