Salve for alleviation of Herpes and/or Shingles

Iíd like to share a remedy Iím currently developing a salve to alleviate the symptoms of herpes, (kind of a THC/natural herb Abreva). It has significantly shortened my outbreak periods from weeks to days and lessens the pain of the blisters. In addition to that Iíve never had a blister erupt since I started using it. Iíve shared this among friends and thereís and thereís a widespread consensus as to its effectiveness. A friend of mine has also successfully used it to shorten the outbreak period and alleviate the pain of his Shingles outbreaks. The primary ingredients are a 1% solution of Melissa essential oil, and Cannabis infused coconut oil. Both Melissa and Cannabis have been documented as being useful against both Herpes and Shingles:

Additionally Iíve added emu oil to enhance enhance absorption through the skin . Iíve also added a bee propolis/honey mixture both to boost the immune system, (the last might be superfluous, but it does taste good). My recipe is as follows:

1) Step 1 is the same procedure as if you were making canna-butter. Infuse a ratio two oz. of shake into 16 oz. of coconut oil and water in a crockpot for 12 hours. Strain off the shake and refrigerate. The oil will solidify on top. Discard water and reserve the oil. Alternately you can buy infused coconut oil from your local dispensary or dissolve hash oil into coconut oil and use that.

2) Melt infused coconut oil from step #1 in a double boiler or microwave and add emu oil at a ratio 1 oz emu oil : 3 oz. infused coconut oil.

3) add bee propolis/honey 1:10 (combined oils)

4) Melissa essential oil (By Far the most expensive ingredient) 1:100 Be sure and use the good stuff from a reliable herbal supplier it should cost between $60 ~ $150 for a 5ml bottle.

5) Calendula essential oil 1:50

6) Spanish Melissa essential oil 1:50 This is the cheap adulterated essential oil of lemon balm. you'll find all over the internet. It might not be pure, but it smells almost the same.

7) Melt beeswax and add to mixture at a ratio 1:10 (add more beeswax if you want to use the salve as a lip balm.

Sounds like a good recipe, Ill have to try it out!

I have found that pure honey works also extremely well. The secret is to apply the honey as soon as you feel a tingling on you lips (before the blisters really erupt in full force), and keep applying every time you notice that the honey has melted away..

Sometimes the blisters disappear before they even erupt. Heather honey or buckwheat honey seem to work best, but any organic multiflower honey works well!

HSV1 = herpes simplex virus 1 (lip herpes). HSV2 is gonadal (reproductive area sexually transmitted herpes). Both of those are different than herpes zoster (Shingles) which is from dormant chicken pox virus.

I think the calendula will work along with arnica montana in the cann salve.

Regularly go to a naturopath for other chronic problems. Black Walnut tincture helps eradicate "herpes virus" (HSV1). Will ask if it's used in shingles or not in a few weeks.

Blip below from www.mayoclinic.com

"Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus — the same virus that causes chickenpox. Anyone who's had chickenpox may develop shingles. After you recover from chickenpox, the virus can enter your nervous system and lie dormant for years. Eventually, it may reactivate and travel along nerve pathways to your skin — producing shingles.

The reason for the encore is unclear. But it may be due to lowered immunity to infections as you grow older. Shingles is more common in older adults and in people who have weak immune systems.

Varicella-zoster is part of a group of viruses called herpes viruses, which includes the viruses that cause cold sores and genital herpes. Because of this, shingles is also known as herpes zoster. But the virus that causes chickenpox and shingles is not the same virus responsible for cold sores or genital herpes, a sexually transmitted infection."

Tghanks, for the reply,

I'm already using calandula essential oil at ratio 1:40. I'm a litle concerned about using Arnica in salve both because of the numerous side effects and, possible toxicity if the salve is abused, (you know that some idiot is going to eat the salve to get off). I'm hoping to develop this ointment and sell it to the dispensaries and don't want to include any drug that ( should) require a medical professional's recommendation.

I was surprised when I had my first outbreak of genital herpes. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me acyclovir. I took it and shoots disappeared, but now I'm back to having another outbreak again. A friend recommended a natural herpes remedy, today I will begin to apply it and have the hope of improving because my friend told me that it is not advisable to take acyclovir repeatedly.
