NFL 2017

In my empire of dirt
if bridgewater is working with two good wheels i would say he has the most potential of the three, but thats a mighty big if
with the value keenum or bradford could bring to a lot of teams, i dont think they would have any trouble getting some good value in a trade
i still think their current qbs are at least as good as cousins, plus they know the system in place

the vikings look like they have some good, young talent to build around, baba
im not going to hold it against case keenum for loseing the the eagles in the playoffs
/or should i say, the super bowl champion philadelphia eagles
last year i got the lady a bread maker for christmas and we probably make as much pizza dough as we do fresh breads
that cheesy crust looks dank! they finally got a golden corral here in san diego and a bunch of us are going there this weekend
i went to their web site and it looks like they have an ok selection of your typical buffet standards, ( fried fish, chicken and shrimp) plus my friend said their steaks arent that bad
im totally going to smash, you gotta try it all!

All 3 of the vikings QB's are currently not under contract, and the vikes didn't tag (franchise or transition) any of them, so there wont be any compensation for minny if one or all three of them leave.

I too think bridgewater would be their best option, because he'd be by far the cheapest, and they need to start resigning their defensive players next year if they hope to keep that defense intact. This is assuming bridgewater recovers fully and becomes a competent or better QB...

Anyone can have a bad game, especially against a good team like the eagles, but the other knock on keenum is his relative lack of size and arm strength for an nfl QB. It'll be interesting to see if he signs with another team as a starter once free agency shakes out, which btw starts in 3 days...

Ive heard of breadmakers making pizza dough, i guess it just mixes it and proofs it, doesnt actually cook it? So ya'll are using the breadmaker every day? Ive heard they make awesome bread, but isnt the problem that it makes a small loaf at a time? Like barely enough for 2 people to share for one meal?

I keep seeing golden corral commercials on nfl network, with deion sanders narrating. Guess they have a prime rib and shrimp special going now. It's been a while since ive been to one, but remember it being similar to old country buffet, making a little more expensive meats, but more crowded and sloppy. Just remember, Pop, dont fill up on salad and breads, get mostly meat and seafood to get your money's worth.

This is the most trades I can remember in the NFL. Now the Browns traded Kizer to the Packers and then traded with the Bills to get Tyrod Taylor. Plus they already made the trade to get Landry from the Dolphins.

Seattle cut Sherman.

The talking heads are saying Taylor is a temporary measure and the Browns will still draft a QB with the first or 4th pick.

The Bills got the 65th pick (3rd rd pick 1) for Taylor giving them 5 picks in the first 65 picks.

with a hot free agent market and a decent draft class coming out, this should be a great season coming up
the legion of boom is a thing of the past, but sherman is still on of the premiere defensive backs in the league
talib going to the rams is big and adds to an already strong team
/loves wade phillips

interesting move by the browns, itarzan considering they have several top picks in the draft
/they dont even have to use their #1 pick on a qb and could still walk away with a good young player at the position

thanks for pointing out that non of the qbs on mini roster are under contract, baba
now the whole cousins thing make a lot more sense
i agree that bridgewater will probably be the one they keep
/so then where will keenum and bradford end up?
looks like i hvae more catching up than i thought!
we dont make bread everyday but we use it a couple times a month
the loafs arent that bad, you can make 1#/2# at a time, about enough for two or three days depending on how much bread you eat
/we usually make the bigger loafs and then just make crutons with the leftovers
when we use it for pizza dough we just let the machine do the mixing and proofing, then we do the rest
thanks for the buffet tips, my man!
i used to go to buffets a lot and have a my game tight, but i always appreciate input
i usually start slow, trying a little of everything before going big on the things i like the most
i stick wiht water and like you said, avoid bread and other filler items (well except for potatoe dishes), then hit the salad bar after having a few plates
something about the foliage seems to reset my stonmach and i can usually go another round or two before hitting the desert station
ive seen the commercials too and would always wish there was one closer to home
/the closest one is up in like orange county or riverside i think
im expecting the quality to be about what you would get at a hometown buffet but with a better carving station
i will be sure to take an extra bit of the prime rib and shrimp just for you
hope you have a great weekend, brother!

You eat two or three loaf's in two or three days?you like your sammiches or what?lol

hahah i wish
we eat a 1# loaf of bread between the two of us in about two or three days
/a lot of times we dont even eat that much and i end up making croutons
sorry for not being clear, but i had vodka for breakfast

Richard Sherman is visiting the 49ers after being released by the hawks. He's coming off a torn achilles, and had his other achilles operated on too. He's going to be 30 this month and coming off surgery on two bad wheels, it's uncertain if he'll ever be as good again, but he could still be a solid starter.
With trading michael bennett, releasing sherman, possibly trading earl thomas, and kam chancellor and cliff avril uncertain to come back after serious neck injuries, it looks like the Legion of Boom is no more. They were one of the all time great defenses in league history, but their drafts and free agent signings the past 5 years didnt restock the talent level. Maybe seattle will hit some home runs in the draft and FA this year and they'll still have a good defense, but that's iffy...

Now the browns have a good WR, decent QB (what he lacks in passing ability he makes up for with running and a low turnover rate) and maybe a starter at DB. If they draft saquon and a QB with their #1 and #4 overall picks, who thinks they could be a playoff team by next year (not this year)? Browns, perennial playoff team. Sounds funny, doesnt it?

The only buffets ive been going to lately are chinese ones, and i have to have my rice and noodles to eat with the various meat and seafood dishes. I'm usually good for 3 plates every time i go, which i feel like i get my money's worth...

Give us a review of how you liked the corral, Pop, including the cleanliness and clientele you saw...

If you can make a 1 or 2lb loaf in a breadmaker, that's a good sized loaf. My only experience with a breadmaker came decades ago, when maybe they just came out, and a family friend had one and they made a loaf that was as long as my hand. Good, fresh baked bread, but my share was 2 bites. I was like: i waited 2 hours for this?!? but im guessing bread making technology has come a long way since then.
I guess, if you have an oven it's not that hard to make your own bread, but with a machine it's more convenient, and you can set a timer to make it when you want it - put all the ingredients in in the morning, set it to make u a loaf for dinner...

pop_rocks

In my empire of dirt
looks like keenum going to the broncos, rumor has it that a deal has been reached
/but no real numbers out yet
this gives them a lot of flexibility in the upcoming draft
with the #5 pick overall there could still be some good young talent at Qb
depending on whos still on the board, it will be interesting to see what denver does
/im thinking adding to their D' maybe?

yeah i rememeber those old breadmakers baba
the one we have makes a decent sized loaf and you can even set it to add in other stuff ( mix-ins, is what the lady calls em')
/mostly just fruits and nuts
its totally programible, so like you said, you just add the ingredients and set it
then you wake up to the smell of fresh bread
we also just use it to make dough for things like pizza/ calzones or dinner rolls
/we just roll the dough into balls and then cook it in the oven

so unfortunately i wasnt too impressed with our visit to the golden corral, my man
they had a good variet of the kind of things i like to eat, but most of the food was really bland or super salty
the steaks werent that bad, but their mashed potatoes were really thin and most of the other sides i tried werent that good
i did like their fried shrimp and ocra, and their dinner rolls were good
but in the end there wasnt anything that really stood out
its funny you ask about the cleanliness and clientele we saw at the golden corral
its located on the bad side of el cajon blvd ( like the other side is any better), not your best neighborhood
/homeless lady in jog bra going through ashtrays outside the restaurant has to take the cake
inside, most of the people were just good old working class folks or families who live in the area
i do have to admit that the place was filthy for a restaurant
there was like trash/paper all over the place and mrsChicky said the bathrooms were "horrible"
i am glad we went and me and the mrs had a really fun time overall, but i don think we will be going back

Lobster? At a buffet? Only lobster i saw at a buffet was a fancy asian one in the chicago burbs, and that was only on the weekend, and they would only put out like 10 small lobsters at a time and when they ran out you'd have to wait another 15 mins for more. And you were limited to 1 per visit, although it seemed like most people who lined up were repeats...

Lot of free agent action this week. Bears signed allen robinson from the jags, trey burke (eagles TE) and taylor gabriel (WR falcons). They transformed their pass catching group from maybe league worst to respectable in a couple days. ARob is an injury question coming off a torn acl, but he injured it in the first game of the past season so he should have made good progress with healing by now. Gabriel is the speedster from atlanta who should stretch the field for the bears. Burke didnt get much playing time behind maybe the leagues best TE in zach ertz but should be the #1 TE for chicago.

Minnesota got kirk cousins, and all 3 of their previous qb's signed elsewhere (case keenum with the broncos, sam bradford with arizona, and teddy with the jets, supposedly).
They went 13-3 last year with keenum (mostly - bradford played 1.5 games) starting. I think they're good for another 13 wins with cousins at qb, assuming they have good injury luck and dalvin cook comes back healthy. All their starters are under contract till 2019, when they probably have to let players leave for salary cap reasons.

The Pats are kicking azz in free agents this year..bye bye Shoulders, Butler, Lewis (that 1 hurts) Amendola hello 4 compensation picks..thats 4 3rd rounders next year..out with the old in with the new.

pop_rocks

In my empire of dirt
the vikings must really believe in their D', putting all their eggs in one basket like that
we will see how cousins plays, hes relatively durable and should do better in min than he did in washington
jets also made a one year offer to mccown in addition to signing bridgewater, so they have some backup in case bridgewater isnt over the injury (actually i imagine mccown to start and bridgewater to be a project bepending on his health)
im still wondering if they go after a qb in the draft
i couldent believe the cards signed bradford
/we are looking at bradford, wilson, goff and garapaolow being your nfc west starters folks
with so much going on in the free agent market right now its going to be an interesting off season for sure
still a few big names left out there but things are moving fast and its hard to keep up
/it looks like the fins are letting suh go and tyran mathews could be going to the texans

yeah most lobster buffets here in so cal are at the casinos or the really expensive places
most chineese buffets in the area offer snow crab legs here on weeeknds but you end up paying at least $20-$25 (instead of the normal $12-15) but i crush on the crab legs and always feel like i get my moneys worth

will ahve to stay tuned to see how things shake out this off season, but so far its been really interesting

I am not checking now but I am sure some are not as disapointed as I am on departures. I know it has worked so far, but not this time and maybe time for a new strategy. AKA to whoever the cheap bastard that formerly seemed like a genius, pay to keep good players already. I want to tip him upside down and shake all the nickels dimes and pennies out of his greedy pockets to say the least over this, along with thoughts of breaking a pinyata or whatever in the image of him with a stick. If it is the "him" I am thinking of, he supposedly has done a lot for the team but I think the days of luck of the less than likely players making the difference and it not being well luck or amazing unlikelihood are over and reality is rearing its ugly head. We must find a new way forward in this new age. Go 2018 Patriots!

IDK if you are talking about the Pat's, but they as well as 90% of all the teams in the NFL aren't being cheap.
There is a salary cap that you can only twist and bend so much. If you back load contracts at some point it catches up. Then you either rework contract or release them...(see Seattle) You have to field an entire team and still leave hopefully 10 mil for in season pickups. Thats where people like Belichick know how to tell who they absolutely need, who they would like to keep and who they can let go.

A perfect example is Deon Lewis..sure Bill wanted him here but not at 6 + mil a year for an undersized pass catching running back. Instead White takes that job and if he wants another cheap alternative he can bring in Danny Woodhead (just released) for next to nothing. While the morons in Tenn pay him 20 mil for 3 years 11.5 guaranteed. 8th highest rb in the league lol.

Well said Americangrower theres only so much cap space to go around and RBs really son't command that much money .

Hmm, those buffets sound unbelievable. Pricey but worth it. I'd be tempted to bring some ziplocs in, take a few lobster tails home. For the 'dogs', y'know... Puppies gotta eat too.

I didnt realize compensatory picks came in the next draft, not the current draft. Those picks arent going to help the pats this year, unless they trade them (which i think teams can trade compensatory picks now).
Even though brady is coming off an mvp year, realistically he has 2-3 more good years left, u have to take advantage of that championship window now, not years from now...

How'd u like the golden corral, Pop? Tasty and filling? Anything disgusting (people or food) that made you rethink your direction in life?
Most chinese buffet crab legs are these tiny little things that you have to work 10 mins on to get a small morsel of meat. I'll pass...

Vikings have never won a superbowl even though theyve had some pretty good teams over the decades. They have a championship caliber defense and offense, just need an elite QB as the final piece i guess. Maybe kirk isnt elite, but he was the best qb out there. Plus the taxpayers are footing the bill for a new stadium, cant disappoint your fans by playing it safe...

I hear Suh might sign with the patriots for a minimum deal, since he banked $60mil from the dolphins over the last 3 years. He doesnt put up a lot of tackle or sack numbers, but he would definitely upgrade that def line.

IDK if you are talking about the Pat's, but they as well as 90% of all the teams in the NFL aren't being cheap.

This is why the pats couldnt afford to keep solder, dion, amendola, butler. Doesnt matter how profitable a team is, the patriots are under the same salary cap that small market teams like jacksonville and charlotte. Though they have a little bit of an advantage with brady playing for 8-10M less than he should be making.
I'd also argue that they should save 10M cap room for the draft picks theyll make next month...
