Here in Maryland, there is only 1 case in my county. I ordered all my paper products thru Amazon about 10 days ago and am fully loaded for any intestinal issues that arise. One of the local supermarkets is holding shopping for people over 60 only from 6AM til 7AM- I'll send the wife when necessary. Most everything is shut down except essential businesses like 7/11, copier suppliers and supermarkets. Paper goods, bread, and a few other essentials are lacking but most everything else is well stocked. My pot business is very good right now too, only I only ship it- don't try coming to my house!

our county has their first "Coronavirus Command Center", which is not at all re-assuring.

The Governor closed all the restaurants etc., and banned gatherings of more than 25 people.

This means the gym I go to might be violating the guideline.

I tried to talk with the front desk staff about it, explaining that I want them to stay in business and not lose front desk staff.

However they insisted that they were following the official guidelines, and couldn't do anything pro-active to keep the gym open.

I want them to have the gym director call the governor's office and have a health officer come down, and help them improve their social distancing measures.

e.g. they could have people make appointments for the weightlifting machines, to keep the # of people down.

I used to like a crowded pool, but now I swim in the middle of the lane and don't want to share a lane.

The high school kids came in and that is one big cloud of germs so I split pronto.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

If they did more testing, they wouldn’t have to close business. They would know who to quarantine.

this is not reassuring in the least.
family of six, well stocked up, but if this lasts eight weeks things will go south. daughter has been ill for over a month...doctors refuse to give test, is on third round of antibiotics...as if that would help kill a virus.
wife and i both were symptomatic but not serious enough to seek medical attention.
grandkids are fine.
the isolation unit of the naval hospital is but a few miles from us...fingers crossed.

this is the real kicker though...

Influenza vaccination and respiratory virus interference among Department of Defense personnel during the 2017-2018 influenza season.

Abstract

PURPOSE:

Receiving influenza vaccination may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, a phenomenon known as virus interference. Test-negative study designs are often utilized to calculate influenza vaccine effectiveness. The virus interference phenomenon goes against the basic assumption of the test-negative vaccine effectiveness study that vaccination does not change the risk of infection with other respiratory illness, thus potentially biasing vaccine effectiveness results in the positive direction. This study aimed to investigate virus interference by comparing respiratory virus status among Department of Defense personnel based on their influenza vaccination status. Furthermore, individual respiratory viruses and their association with influenza vaccination were examined.
RESULTS:

We compared vaccination status of 2880 people with non-influenza respiratory viruses to 3240 people with pan-negative results. Comparing vaccinated to non-vaccinated patients, the adjusted odds ratio for non-flu viruses was 0.97 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.86, 1.09; p = 0.60). Additionally, the vaccination status of 3349 cases of influenza were compared to three different control groups: all controls (N = 6120), non-influenza positive controls (N = 2880), and pan-negative controls (N = 3240). The adjusted ORs for the comparisons among the three control groups did not vary much (range: 0.46-0.51).
CONCLUSIONS:

Receipt of influenza vaccination was not associated with virus interference among our population. Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus; however, significant protection with vaccination was associated not only with most influenza viruses, but also parainfluenza, RSV, and non-influenza virus coinfections.

when speaking of virus interference they are indicating it interferes with the persons health, not whether it interferes with the covid19.

be safe and keep your head.
prayers for all who have susceptible family members.

if they revealed the names of persons infected it would help uninfected to keep their distance and use extra precautions.

Not rue!!! When folks come back from where ever, then yes, you have a valid concern. Community contamination is exactly that. While incubating, you may not know it but your a carrier, and can transmit the virus. That is the spread of the FUCKER.

Wed of this week, folks were not social distancing. Now X marks the spot. Simple but effective! Stand on the X.

I went for my script re-supply. BTW here is NS, you phone the pharmacy and they tell you when to come and pick up. I stood 10' (2 meters) from the counter, announced who I was, and took a step forward. When it was time to approach the counter, I asked the clerk to take a step back. She had a dumbfounded look on her face. I said, this is for your protection dear! My pharmacy stated, (on the phone) if you need delivery, its free of charge. Sinvce I am mobile, I choose to leave that option for folks that really need it.

I know common sense went out the window YEARS ago but, we all need to do our part to see US through. There is no I in team, regardless of what the powers to be say. Me. myself and I. e.g insider trading!

Los Angeles area.... 15 people have confirmed covid19 in my City and there are hundreds in the county. Shelves are empty, unless you know where to go. Restaurants are converting into mini markets to help with demand and to also make some money in this desperate time.

I’m working a legal facility the past few months. Dispensaries are to remain open so we are business as usual. It’s crazy times. Only positive is there is barely any traffic. Los Angeles heads will understand how monumental that is. Haha.

- Remember to hit any cash - with a laser beam - 'cos all cash is now potentially a viral vector - maybe they have cash ovens - to cook the virus out of it?

- Makes me wonder if this is partly about getting us all to be a 'cashless' society - since now they tell us the cash could be infected -

I took the dog for his daily walk yesterday midday. Despite the cold (-5C with -11C windchill), there were more people out walking than I typically see in warm weather. Other dog walkers, parents with kids, couples etc - and everybody is friendly & quick with a hello. At a distance, of course.

I just did a little bit of panic buying at the liquor store. They shut down like 6 states! Won't be long until we can't buy liquor for the entire summer!!

Definitely going to be a real pain in the ass, we probably won't even have a 4rth of July fireworks show except for on the TV. Lol, could be worse, especially if I lived in the city. I kind of feel bad for NYC being forced to stay home in a tiny overpriced apartment. Tell me to stay home, I'm going fishing. Maybe some hiking, boating and hunting too, definitely going to have a little garden, bought plenty of veggie seeds. I'll be good as long as long as nobody tries to rob me, which kind of worries me. I got weed, liquor, food and toilet paper. Lol, I do have guns and a dog that will definitely attack though, I just hope it doesn't get to that point. You just never know what's going to happen with over 300 million people panicking, the police ain't even trying to arrest people anymore. Lol, what's probably really going to bite us in the ass, is they're letting out a bunch of prisoners and a lot of them probably don't have a place to stay, all while the police won't arrest you for stealing... I think a lot of people are going to get shot this summer. I think the panic will end up killing more people than the sickness. Can't even barely buy ammunition anymore they all panic bought it. Lol, thankfully I had plenty ammunition on hand anyways.

So we lock everybody in their house until they die of starvation? Shut down society because that’s what it will take.
There will never be any natural immunity.
Boy will never meet girl.
Medicine won’t be produced.
Food won’t be grown.
The power grid will fail.
No water.
No internet.
Only seclusion.

Is it fair to keep another generation hostage other than on a temporary basis? We have to make plans.

Troops down the A12 on Friday,,,,
Central London and Greater London locked down,,,,
Any civil disturbances and troops on the Estates,,,,s2

Thanks to Dr. Lo and one of his employees in Petoskey Michigan there's independent testing and confirmation of the virus in the region. Most people were oblivious to the warnings initially and it got really quiet really fast after the news was released. I believe that the Disease specialist of N Michigan McLaren Hospital stated that they have around a dozen patients in their system believed to have C19.

Summertime in Northern Michigan might be pretty quiet this year!
