Yeah, beans are a good cheap protein source. I think beans and carbs (beans and rice, beans and tortillas, etc) are considered complete proteins, meaning they have all the amino acids and can replace meat entirely in your diet. Plus they have fiber and are good for digestion.

I hear ya on meat being expensive but i always stock up on sales. Lately ive been getting pork at $1/lb, it's a big roast with assorted chops, seems like they have that sale every couple months. Ill stock up on ground beef when they sell 'pub burger patties' for $1 for an 8ox patty, that works out to $2/lb for 80/20 ground beef, they come preformed in patties but you can break them up and use it however. And recently they had a bottom round roast sale for $2/lb, got a few of those bad boys haha, smoked a couple for some roast beef sandwiches, cooked a couple in the insta pot for pot roast and beef stew.
You do need some decent fridge and freezer space when you stock up on meat though.

Man Hawk if you were my roommate i'd be 300lbs by now. I'd definitely supply the booze if you did the cooking. The thing with cooking is that im lazy and just dont want to spend the time doing it right most of the time. But i guess rachael ray's 30 minute meals is a good time saver when you dont want to spend hours in the kitchen if you can help it. The gyro meat on a burger is sometimes called a 'vicelord' burger in the Chicago hoods, guess that was popular with the vicelord street gang.

Ive heard of the slater's 50/50, ive been thinking of making a bacon burger but pre-cooking the bacon first a bit (maybe par boiling it?) and then dicing it up into the burger meat so that way it gets a little crispy when it's cooked up.

Yeah with the DST change now it gets dark around 530pm, in late Dec it'll get dark around 4pm before days start to get longer. Kinda sucks but that's the system we live under.

The nice thing about Hawk's phone is that you can bend it in an L shape and set it on a desk and use it like a mini laptop. Also will bend completely in half and makes for a smaller but thicker object to slide into your pocket. I hear theyre all the rage in korea (samsung) now.

Sausage ziti with chicken wings looks like a good little meal, DB. Im not sure but that doesnt look like a big portion? For $7 i'd want more but maybe that container is deeper than it looks.

Patriots D dominated the colts who were starting 2nd year QB Sam Ehlinger, a 6th rd pick last year. Sacked him 9x (!), got a defensive TD and held them to 100yds and a FG. Ur right, pats O didnt have to do much but they only got 200yds themselves, colts have a pretty good D but this performance isnt going to quiet down the fans who want zappe to play over matt jones.

Yeah that rams bucs game was a defensive slugfest and the goat managed to pull off a game winning TD drive. I think for the first time in his head coaching career fans are complaining about mcvay's play calls. They needed to convert a 3rd and 5 to run out the clock but went with a run instead of a pass to Kupp, and their run game had been averaging less than 3yds/carry on the day. Not sure if the pass to Kupp would have worked im sure you double cover him in that situation but still it's hard to ignore your best offensive player when it matters most. Fwiw i think their rookie RB kyren williams will play soon maybe he'll give some juice to that offense.

Bears kept it close vs Miami, i expect a lot of losses now that theyve traded away all their best defensive players. But it's all about developing fields and making good picks in the draft and free agency.

I think ive heard of florentine sauce before but it sounds fire, Hawk. Spinach, garlic, cheese? Im gonna have to try it out one day.

Here's a cheesy gordita crunch from taco bell last night. Had a free taco from the world series (steal a base, steal a taco) on the app so decided to splurge on a $5 cravings box along with a free doritos taco.

f'n'a 1$/lb pork baba, that is a great deal esp if you use it right away and 80/20 ground beef is awesome! even if it is in patties it comes pre- weighs ;you need a pound of meat , put four patties in there and chunk them up
you know im bringing something to drank hawk! got you me and the next guy covered
so you are the guy who is stealing all the tacos baba?! we had to put a lock on the trash cans because of this kind of shit!
there is a time and place for taco bell and we have all been there!
that sounds like a dope filling hawk! and i will be sure to try it
tits v chiefs turned out to be pretty good and im wondering about these teams up north
are the hawks for real? waht about these footballers from new york?
/the bill loss=biggest upset; just an off game thoe
i like the miseducation of this fields kid and he played a good game against a better team
and hopefully we will see how he does with some actual talent around one day
im not feeling this rams team at all this year and im hearing grumbling from the grumblers about coach mcveys play calling; did he call some stupid plays on sunday, sure... but the team bungled these stupid plays in a way that only a team led by fat immoblie qb with a couple of those orange cones laid out on the field for an what is supposed to be an offensive line could do
is geno the best qb in the nfc.w right now? come at me bro

bows respectfully

Yeah, we bought so much we had to freeze most of it and give some away to friends/family. My mom told me recently no more pork, please, haha.
4 ground beef patties would be 2lbs, since theyre half lb patties, but yeah, makes a good amount of meat sauce for spaghettis, tacos etc. Maybe i should make a meatload one day, dont think ive ever made one before.

We've been having some kind of raccoon or possum digging through our kitchen bags we leave in the trash cans, what kind of lock do you use? We're thinking putting a big concrete block on top is the cheapest solution...

Fields was a popular pick up this week in fantasy cause he's been on a tear with his rushing. Im still worried that he only passed for 125yds last game (and rushed for 175), he's gonna have to get those passing numbers up if he wants to be a long term stud. But it is encouraging that he's leading the offense to points.

For all his supposed love for the pass, Mcvay loves using the run to set up the pass. It was awesome when gurley was at the peak of his powers and the defense didnt know what was coming, but theyre averaging 3.2 yds per carry and have one more rushing yrd (547) than the last place Bucs (546) who supposedly have the worst rushing offense in the last 50 yrs (on pace for 64 rush yds/game, worst is 66 rush yds/game by san diego in 2000 – pre LT i guess).
With the trade deadline past, there's no quick fix coming for the rams. Just have to keep pounding i guess. Good thing was stafford didnt have any TO's last week at least.

Haha yeah, I keep telling her the only benefit to owning so much stuff ("junk") is that you don't have to buy it (whatever 'it' is) because you already have it. But if you can't find 'it' because you have to look for hours and hours and still can't find it then that defeats the purpose of keeping all this stuff. Ah well.

get it while you can brother at those prices
/have you gone to the grocery store lately?!
plus pork is one of the most versatile meats out there so you can do a lot with it
im actually a big fan of the meat loaf baba and we are getting to meat loaf season! good value for your buck plus a versitle player!
you can eat it on a plate with sides and you have a winner, or just on some bread, its still really good
i like to add things like peppers and onions to mine just to give it some texture i add rice, 9yeah im asian) and to add that extra kick put in green olives!
/i bet if you had corn bread that would be a good sub too instead of rice
so we went out for some l&l bbq tonight for dinner brahh....
https://www.hawaiianbarbecue.com/
pops makes shaka sign and smoking kine!
/we walked to the store and then took the long way home smoking a joint
there was candy at her wok too and she brought some of it home tonight! im going to get more high and then eat some

Most of the meat deals are limited to one per person for the week of sales, but with different emails and phone numbers we can usually get like 4x of the deal for the two of us. Is that cheating? I feel like that's cheating, but there's usually extras leftover at the store so it's not like other people are deprived...

Most of the meatloaf ive tried has a lot of onions in it, which i want to avoid if i want to feed some to the pup (too many onions isnt good). Rice in meatloaf? That could be good. The cajun dirty rice from Popeye's is basically rice with ground beef mixed in.

That hawaiian BBQ looks pretty fire, with the bbq beef, bbq chicken, fried shrimp and of course the spam musubi. Is the BBQ sauce like a teriyaki sauce or more american style bbq sauce (sweet, tomato base)? Looks like the entrees range from $9-13, that seems like a decent price nowadays, do u get a decent amount of food for ur money?

Tonite we have Falcons at Panthers, these teams played 2 weeks ago in a surprisingly high scoring game, panthers tied it up with a last minute td but the falcons won in OT. Hawk, how do you feel about your falcons, who are tied with the bucs for the division lead? It's surprising, everyone thought they would be tanking for sure, most people had them as the 2nd worst team next to houston, but they're 4-5 (were 4-4 and in first in the division before losing to the chargers last week). I like their head coach, Arthur smith, he's basically been telling the media "F-U" when he brings up that everyone thought they'd be tanking this season. Honestly though they do a QB in the draft so they might be hurting themselves winning so much, but they could find a good QB in the middle of the 1st rd.

its freaking getting cold and dark earlier in the day,( i guess i should call it night then, man its dark)

yeah, the container was packed and it is grinding baba
the bbq sauce is more asian style, saltier than sweet, like teriyaki
/got extra containers of that fo'free!
i got the curry katsu style chicken
its two scoops of rice & mac salad! with the chopped fried chicken smothered in curry sauce!
the mrs pointed out we could have gotten the small
its same as above but they only give you one scoop rice, but i think they give you extra protein (mains) if you get the large
im going to ask them next time we go
/but between the two of us would could have gotten an extra item
you know we got the musubi!
it was not what i would call good, just ok
a real top musubi you got to cook the spam a little before laying it on the rice::pops awards bonus points if you cook it in some flavor like a sauce (like those free teriyaki!!)
next time we try the gravy fries!
but like you said its a great deal for what you get and we will be going back
yeah im kind of looking forward to tonights game baba, who thf are these falcons? man
they are pling way above their weight and i think it should be a fun game to watch
/im going to dress up in case the milfs are on tv
its been a crazy year and we are seeing a lot of off the wall stuff
/no one suspected sea would be doing what they are doing
it seems like the only div that isnt all crazy if the afc.e, oh wait, everyone there is winning games (pats have worst record at 5-4) are they going to send three teams to the playoffs?
so it look like fathew stafford might have a head owwie so we will see if he plays against the cards thsi weekend
rams the will sub in wolford; he is a much more mobile qb but untested (hahah im comparing him to stafford so the bar is not that high)
the offensive line is just a bunch of those orange cones you set out on the field and the run game...
...
yeah

next time you make a loaf try some rice in it! it adds a fun texture and is about the same as bread crumbs
/unless you like that smooth loaf texture
thing more like stuffed peppers, but more meaty!
#chefs kiss

Chicago doesnt have many hawaiian type food places around, there's a few in the city but mostly it's just poke places nearby. You like poke or sushi? Wait, you dont like fish, and i guess that applies double to raw fish.

If i ever find myself near a hawaiian food place ill have to try it out, food looks pretty good, although truthfully it doesnt seem to hard to make myself. Get some macaroni salad from the grocery deli, marinate and fry/grill up my own meat, make some spam musubi on the side, ill be eating good.

There's this sweet teriyaki sauce called yoshida sauce they sell by the gallon at sams, havent bought it in a while since it's easy to make ur own sweet teriyaki type sauce (soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, etc) but maybe ill pick up a jug, it's pretty versatile and it's always good to cut the saltiness of soy sauce with something sweeter.

I dont know seems like the TNF milfs arent coming back, with out luck it will be those influencer douchebags again haha.

Yeah, Seattle was another team everyone figured would be awful but Geno is playing well, defense is playing pretty well too, they got some good rookies on D, a corner and a safety especially. Geno filled in for Russ a bit last year when he hurt his hand and didnt look too bad so maybe this shouldnt be that unexpected.

Is stafford that fat? He's a little chunky, rocking a bit of a puffy face but i feel like a lot of QBs like to pack on the lbs thinking the extra 'padding' will help them survive hits. Even mahomes and allen are a little thicker around the middle than you'd expect for young guys. Stafford is certainly immobile, but im not sure being skinnier would help.

The rams rookie RB, kyren williams, might play this week. He might inject some life in the run and pass game, but he's a 5th rd rookie who ran a 4.6 40yd dash so not sure he's going to dominate. But if wolford starts if stafford sits out with a concussion, he's way more mobile and that could help extend drives, like fields does with the bears.

al michaels was not worth dressing up for! pops is less than flacid
you are right baba, the milfs were a one off prob but this just exposes the weakness that is these tnf games this year
/we are well into the 2nd q and its 0-3
elvistv.gif

these are lame games and dont get people excited for the weekends football!

no m.stafford is not really that fat and part of it is just the way his face is shaped
im just running with some shit another friend of mine (pops hates this guy! f'n'f'r), throws back and forth about football game
/pops has lucky moon face too and truth is, im prbably the fattest one of all of us
he is immobile thoe and with this shitty line that is a problem for the rams
...breaking news...
pops just sees staffords pizza pizzza comercial

fathew lives on!!
/im sending this one to my buddy subject: pizza pizza
yeah there are a lot of poke places around here! there was one across the way from the hawaiian joint we went to!
im not into the poke but the mrs is, she eats it up and i think usually get the tuna or salmon
plus there was this bakery in the same shopping center, i cant remember the name, but when we left the hawaiian place we walked around and this kid slides up to us with a sample tray loaded with little baked good
/pops sits extra nice and puts paw in air
he was totally cool and let us try a few of their treats on the tray as samples!
"im here to give them away, he kept saying when i kept asking for more"
a fun little desert
but these places are getting craz expensive so we just looked at their menu!
there is this place close by called mochi nut, you ever had a mochi doughnut?
https://www.mochinut.com/
its rice flower made into a doughnut its pretty good, but they charge like f'n shit tpon for them
/i think its like $30 bucks for a dozen
the one we went to had them like 3: $9 i think; they were good ut not that good

Yeah, the gas is the only good thing about davenport.theres tons of stores and restaurants but the only thing cheap is gas so far. I haven't really ventured much yet.

Fucking A Man 26 bucks for natural fucking ice.i almost got a bottle instead but it takes a whole fith to get me where I want.the 30 will last me 2 maybe 3 days if I pace myself.

The Japanese mochi was imported as a gift to me.dont know what it costs but I liked it.you could tell it was natural.couldnt read the fucking ingredients cause all of it was in Japanese!

He'll yeah pops! That band is banging.kinda reminds me of Alice in chains.

Oh yeah, the phone.its awesome cause I can pair my Samsung watch to it and answer calls on my watch like dick Tracy or inspector gadget.i love this phone.

Well here's a slice a pizza I made a while back.its square cause I'll always be a Chicago boy.got bacon sausauge pepperoni. Dont remember what else.it was good though.fuck i hate making dough

Haha, al michaels is definitely not giving me a boner but i find his voice comforting, he's been broadcasting football games for so long ill miss him when he retires.
There was a bit more scoring in the 2nd half and the game total was 40pts scored, which beat the under i think. But yeah, it was a lot of running and a lot of futile passing by mariota. Carolina also finished under 150 pass yds.

You would think as a professional athlete stafford would be in better shape, but most QBs dont lift as much as other football players do. I think josh allen said recently he only lifts like once a week, it's more about core strength and flexibility with him.

Ive never had a mochi doughnut but they sound alright, basically a doughnut made of rice and tapioca flour so it's really soft and chewy? I guess they'd be good if you have celiac disease. But $3 each is pricey, i agree, could get a dozen at Dunkin donuts for like 2 or 3 mochi ones.

Yeah Hawk, falcons fell behind early and could never make it up, not being able to stop the panther's run game didnt help either. They have a rookie QB, desmond ridder, who was pretty good in college (led Cincinnatti to the college playoff) but the falcons coach said he never considered putting him in. Maybe this year is just a redshirt year for him.

Stafford does kind of have that baby face but not a baby face like he's good looking but that his features are kind of small: his eyes nose and mouth seem small in his head/face. But i think nelson muntz had a pig nose (upturned) and i dont see that in stafford.

Ur right, spam is hella salty but i consider it like bacon, crisp it up nice and a little goes a long way.
It's been a while since i had a natty ice but 5.9% abv is decent. 8-10% would be better though. Miller highlife is popular around here but only has 4.6% abv.
Are alcohol taxes a lot higher in IA than IL? That would surprise me. Or maybe the bottle return is higher? I think in Michigan they give you a lot of money if you recycle glass or aluminum, but consequently they charge you more when you buy drinks in glass/cans.

It's been years since i made my own pizza, ur right Hawk making your own dough can be a pain. Gotta measure everything out, knead it, cover it, let it rise, maybe knead again and rise again etc. Plus you need clean countertop space to do the kneading. It can be a pain but if you do it enough you get used to it i guess, may even be able to eyeball ingredients.
That pizza looks righteous, did you just use spaghetti sauce for the pizza sauce? I get jars of marinara at sams and that would make a good pizza sauce in a pinch.

you are right about al michaels being an icon in sports broadcasting and one day maybe i will miss him too
the games are just awful match ups so far it seems
i know they want to let every team have its chance on the national broadcast, but maybe put more of the marqui teams on the showcase thursday night game
/i call it showcase because there is only one game to choose from, like sunday nights/ monday, no one else is playing in this time slot so if you want to watchc football you are watching this game
thats a thing when you make your own pizza hawk, you make them whatever shape you want
most of mine are like an amoeba shape but i dig the idea of using a square pan and just pressing it in
good call using marinara sauce on a pizza baba, seasoned up and about the right consistency
making you own dough is nxt .lvl shit! ive done it and for a while the mrs was all into the bread machine she got for christmas but its kind of tucked away somewhere and i havent seen it in ages
you can buy dough from the store or some good pizza shops will sell you a lb and there are always those flat bread options i see in the store all the time now and we cant forget those boboli things!
/we used to make pizzas on white bread and i bet you could get creative with the kind of crust you use
its hard to get excited about this weeks rams game
i have zero confidence in the teams ability to win right now but we should get a good show from the defense

the mrs is going on a hike tomorrow with her friends, i am not going to tag along this time
but we are going to something on sunday morning before the rams game
i would lke to go to the beach for a walk but we will see, there are lots of fun places to explore
and its prefect hiking weather

Yeah,Falcons got whipped.thought they were favored though.oh well.

Yeah I usually make my own sauces.i do different things depending how lazy I am.usually I take tomato sauce, crushed tomato from a can.tomato paste, garlic powder or minced garlic, oregano and a bay leave and simmer for an hour or so.

I didn't use a square pan pops.it was still round.square pan pizza is usually a Detroit thing.nothing wrong with that.i just make them square cause that's usually how pizza is done in the Chicago area.the good ones at least.and maybe it's all in my head but it I think it tastes better.maybe more toppings and stuff cause of more surface area or something.i don't know lol I wanna try this uncle bill's pizza down the street but after spending 40 bucks on taco bell and beer I'm getting pissed and strapped for cash.
