I never bought Subcool seeds but have seen him on YouTube.

A noted cannabis breeder and seed seller who goes by the name of Subcool reported Tuesday losing his home, seedstock and source plants used to make cuttings, called “mothers.”

Subcool’s colleague reported on Instagram that he refused to leave his farm. “With flames soaring in the air he yelled, ‘Come get me. Here I am.’” Sheriffs reportedly had to escort him away.

All the more reason to pass around clones. Cannabis is a weed and a fragile one at that. Lot's of genetics have been lost as long as people been growing, breeding and preserving. That's a long time.

That sucks for him, and all the others who have lost everything to the fires (some including their lives)... But losing his genetics is really no big deal...

Everything he ever offered was just poorly selected, watered down c99 crosses based on a single space queen male chosen at random from a 10 pack... using fairly common maternal progenitors (mothers). anyone can do that and recreate his "library"... Hell i might start some killer queen seeds and do just that :biggrin:

Only fools will go around collecting the last of his stock thinking they have anything special

That's sad news. Losing personal property or worse lives in a fire is horrible.

I hope everyone is ok. It sucks he lost his stock, but maybe it is an opportunity to explore some different genetics. I liked his Chernobyl and Dairy Queen.

He and Loompa were on the Adam Dunn show on Friday describing their loss and horror...It's a really moving watch/listen and the support for each other in their community out there is truly inspiring.

I tried posting a link to the show but couldn't figure out how to do it without it showing my email and password...The episode is called "California fire- unfortunately the wrong kind"

First off prayers go out to Subcool and all others affected by the fires.

Ok so from what I understood, didn’t he outsource his seed production? So wouldn’t those others have copies of his parent plants?

Yeah, he had given out clones and most is recovered. I think he lost his Jack the Ripper male and that's about it. Something like that on his Weed Nerd show.

Thats what i thought/was going to say.. He'll get most of the genetics back, and is good to hear actually.

I hope he had fire insurance, if so i bet everything will be ok.

I havent paid much attention to the ADshow lately I'll have to check that and other episodes out

Shit. That is really heavy. He did have a few gems. Although rarely stable do to chucks.

"Pandoras Box" was my all time favorite energy weed. Outdoor in Hawaii Bong hits and straight to pull ups. Insane.
