Tomato plant crown rot?

thats crazy, some kind of fungus? Have you tried sulfur on it?

It's from a buddy of mine on the east coast so I'm not sure what, if anything, he's tried.

Slime mold growing on mulch would be my guess, the tomato just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
