Effects of smoking powdery mildewed buds?

I'm sorry you still have the infection, but I really am glad it isn't a mold infection. Did they run the sputum test?

I see what they're saying about the suppressed immune system. My big thing with docs who say that is a person's immune system is affected by so many factors, they really don't know what your immune system was doing during a potential infection. Like were you sick when you smoked mold? If you were sick, your immune system was lowered due to fighting off another infection. When you said you were on Zpacks and it didn't help, it made my eyebrows raise. Zpacks are some strong shit, and for it not to work, you have to have some kind of bitchin infection. Mold or no mold.

Immune system stuff is kind of my thing. I have an auto-immune disease that can only be treated by artificially supressing the immune system. So I got to learn all the fun shit immune systems take care of. Mold is one of my biggest concerns. TB can just about kill me if not handled RIGHT away. It just amazed me how many docs had no clue what they were talking about with me until I saw a specialist and got help after 10+ years of unimaginable pain.

But yeah, for now you have some reassurance. Finish off those antibiotics and see your primary when you're scheduled. I would tell him everything too, and if you did have a cold or some kind of sickness when you smoked, tell your doc that too. And if they didn't take a sputum culture where you went yesterday, they may want to do that anyway just to be 100% sure.

Keep me updated if you don't mind. I'd like to know how things go for you. But for now, I'm glad to hear that the infection isn't as severe as a mold/fungal infection.

It's times like these, I know how blessed, and lucky I am. I'm able to take good care of myself. Eat right, for the most part, lift weights like crazy, and run 4-5 miles a night. The chest pains I was having, have subsided. I just pushed past a plateau with the weights, that's more than likely what caused the pains. I will check any bud, that I did not personally grow, from now on. Even tho it most likely wouldn't harm me, I still don't want to take any chances, with a nasty infection such as the above mentioned.

Good luck Wonderon.

I am new here, so sorry to wake up a really old thread if there is something newer. I am a trimmer and just got sick after trimming a harvest with some powdery mildew on it. Wondering if anyone can recommend a good mask that is not too heavy and what else I might do to besides taking off for the day that might help reduce my level of exposure. Not that it happens often but once in a while something rolls by that has some pm on it.

I doubt mouldy weed would effect your gut, but maybe. I had acid reflux for awhile and the symptoms sound a lot like yours, like Lung pain and pain in the middle of my chest. Acid vapor from your stomach gets into your lungs and acid also travels up your esophagus causing chest pain. Doctors had no clue and eventually worked it out for myself. Had a lot of trouble with my gut, bloating, discomfort, etc. Getting my gut microbiome healthy again through a super healthy diet and things like probiotics, kombucha and sauerkraut helped a lot, no stress and lots of gentle exercise fixed the problem but it took awhile. The 21st century is hard on the body.

you on the west coast? there has been some bad weather in cali lately and we all have been experiencing more phlegm than usual. pretty bad actually. maybe thats the cause?

I saw some phlegm in the swimming pool in Sonoma County.

Early morning ... 30 degrees. Crazy people swimming around sunrise.

The cold would always cause me to excrete more phlegm.

I tried to be responsible about it. You know, swallow it, or spit it in the pool gutter.

But I think this one time, I must have exhaled it.

This big long yellow green thing, 15 inches long.

Looked like an Amoeba.

Exercise like that is good for clearing out the lungs.
