Can I be busted by the DEA???

Im sure everyone has heard about marc emery and others at the BCMP. I was just reading an article about the DEA intercepting seed orders from him during the past few months

Undoubtedly a full scale assault on the cannabis movement. I used a credit card to order from seeds direct and I am shitting my pants right now.

Security starts with not doing something as careless as ordering seeds with your credit card #. It wasnt a good idea before the emery issue and it wont be after. Money order and a safehouse you arent connected to is the minimal safety requirements for getting seeds. Anything less is your own gamble. Are you as good as busted? probably not, do you have something more to worry about that the majority of the rest of us do not, I would say so. Im also guessing you are a resident of the US? So it hardly matters where the seeds originated from, they are all illegal here.

Then if you arent part of the emery issue then no you wont be busted by the dea because they are the feds and small shop operators in MJ are always busted by the local po-po unless its part of a larger sting.

I personaly have put a temp. stop on buying seeds all together... I have enough strains to keep my happy till i feel it's safe enough to buy again.... Just my opinion though.

Meditating, I doubt they will be coming to investigate you but that letter could come. I still wouldn't panic because many seed orders are intercepted at customs all over the world just in the random checks. They never follow up on those do they? No.

Now you may have heard a recent scary story about what happened in Italy to some internet pot posters but that also isn't usual.

Follow your intuitions but dont panic. Think out what you could do to minimize your risk and do stay safe. But I have trashed crops for no reason other than paranoia and until you hear that seed buyers are actually being found and busted I wouldn't sell the farm yet. Thats just my opinion however and you should follow your own intuitions. BOG

...It Worked! Unless you grow over 99 plants or Traffic huge amounts the DEA doesn't want you. Are you selling your weed? Are you selling Harder Illegal Substances? Did you have your seeds sent to your grow? Have you ordered from Emery? Does your Skunky Aroma waft through the streets of your neighborhood? Does anyone know you grow? Do you like to drink to a stupor at the Local Watering Hole and brag about your Bomb Ass Weed? Do you have 20 1000 watt lights and the means to keep them cool? Do you toss your trim into the trash to be picked up by Otto and the Municipal Trash Collectors in Toluca Lake? Do you drive an Escalade to your Part Time job at McDonalds? If you can answer Yes to any of these questions you may need to be concerned.

what you want to do is channel that energy into something for your security- acquire a carbon filter or Vaportec.

Trust me; after having 2 intercepted ... I checked into what they could do if they did come after me.

it is not illegal to order them - it's illegal to possess & germinate them - It can be proved in court that is only hear say U yourself ordered the seeds - or took the picts in a online gallery. (no mater the method of payment)

They do not have the resources to chase down every small grower in the USA & unless U are a large scale grower or illegally supporting a subversive cause - I would not be 'overly paranoid'

Fear is a great weapon of the enemy... yet.... healthy fear is a good thing / do a security sweep & lay low for a while.= i.e - don't order for a while & let this wind blow over-

if U feel that paranoid - stop growing & they have nothing they can do to you= i.e. that's what they are after

I'm sure many of you are worried about what use may be made of the photos in your gallery and even the posts you make.

At least for Canada and the US, there appears to be little difference in the way the law views admissibility of statements and photographs, digital or otherwise.

The main issue, as it has been for many years, is that the photographs must be authenticated by the person who took them. Either by way of a certificate / affidavit or viva voce testimony.

Lets assume the worst case scenario: you have been busted, and the cops have discovered your computer and all your (incriminating?) Overgrow pics. Are you in more trouble? Not so. Since you cannot be compelled to testify against yourself, there can be no way to verify who took the pictures, and whether or not they have been altered in any way. They are hearsay and generally not admissible as evidence.

Pictures or statements of this nature can go in as evidence if;
1) both parties agree to it.
2) you testify as to their authenticity. I doubt either of the above is likely to happen.

A lot of people get their PC's taken in a bust; however, they are usually looking for evidence of money laundering, like people running spreadsheets or keeping lists of who owes them what.

In any event, the posts that you make concerning your pictures and grow are hearsay also, since they also must be verified as authentic by the original poster. The cop on the stand would have to say, "Well, the information (which I can't verify hasn't been altered by a third party) on an OG Member's computer (which I can't verify that he actually personally posted) tells me that he (may have) said that these pictures (which I can't verify have not been altered) are his...."

Hearsay. Not admissible.

Keep yourself and your personal details out of your photos & posts for the sake of prudence, as these things may be used to inspire an investigation should you be recognized, but not as evidence against you in a trial proper.

Meditating - you ordered from Seeds Direct, not M.E.....so you have no worries...relax!

as others have wisely advised - always use a safe (non-growing) postal address

send cash or M.O.(cash notes in the mail can be stolen so fold the notes longways 3 times then fold into an L shape to disguise it and place inbetween other paper in an envelope.)

send the envelope by Registered Mail which means the specified addressee has to sign for it which minimises theft

but if there are other factors involved that has given you the heebie jeebies like telling the wrong people or other problems, then it's better to be safe than jailed ..so "clean the house" .....take down the grow, get rid of smoking tools, wash the hastrays etc and later on start again at a safe location.

I would avoid sending things by registered mail as I dont know if seed vendors will sign for things that could implicate themselve in a conspiracy.
