Heres some photos of saturated ethanol dripping out of a teabag (out of frame) and landing in a pyrex pie plate that I use for containing evaporating substances sometimes when I'm not using it to make pies.

That shadow at upper right is cast by the drop

The radius of the splash expands at the speed of sound in ethanol, pretty fast probably.
