The upper limits of CBD

I am very ignorant on the topic of CBD so I ask for input.

With the Farm Bill being passed and Hemp legalized, info will be able to be spread more freely in person. Intense Breeding will commence.

I assume the two paths will be: 1) to breed plants with more pulp, and fabric potential, 2) breed plants very high in CBD.

What would be the effects of consuming a plant that is high in CBD?

While many cannabis consumers may choose to opt for CBD-only products like CBD oil, CBD-rich flower can have better effects because of the synergy that occurs between THC and CBD. When smoking or vaping the entire cannabis flower, you get a wide breadth of therapeutic cannabinoids and fragrant terpenes that work together to influence each other’s actions. Here are seven health benefits of CBD oil that are backed by scientific evidence.

1. Can Relieve Pain
Marijuana has been used to treat pain as far back as 2900 B.C. (2).

More recently, scientists have discovered that certain components of marijuana, including CBD, are responsible for its pain-relieving effects.

The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is involved in regulating a variety of functions including sleep, appetite, pain and immune system response (3).

The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system.

Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters (4).

For example, one study in rats found that CBD injections reduced pain response to surgical incision, while another rat study found that oral CBD treatment significantly reduced sciatic nerve pain and inflammation (5, 6).

Several human studies have found that a combination of CBD and THC is effective in treating pain related to multiple sclerosis and arthritis.

An oral spray called Sativex, which is a combination of THC and CBD, is approved in several countries to treat pain related to multiple sclerosis.

CBD definitely works better with some THC in it, and vice versa. I do see a lot of CBD extraction coming from hemp, and I don't see this going away. Being able to also sell the fiber materials will be a boon.

There are literally thousands of uses for the materials the hemp plant produces. Oil from the seeds can be pressed, filtered and used directly in your diesel engines. (Tractor fuel anyone?) As industry progresses, watch as breeding centers around specific needs. Long/short weak/strong fibers, soft/hard fibers, oils, terpentine, plastics, waxes and anything else industry demands.

Small scale? I'm expecting to see some crazy things over the next 10 years. lol

The hemp rule mandates that legal plants have less than 0.3% THC, so its not just CBD, its any cannabinoid that isn't THC. The guy who started this thread

One of the effects of CBD is that it inhibits certain types of drug metabolism, so the effects of consuming a plant that is high in CBD may depend on what other drugs you're on.

Agreed, both minimal thc (more than what hemp is...0.3% or less) and CBD together helps me.

However, back at another job (lab worker in material degradation lab), they do spot (and frequent) urine screens, so making my own CBD capsules from hemp.

I can attest, both together (thc/CBD and all the other components)is best, hence we developed several strains with CBD rich and high ration of CBD compared to thc. We do have a few we're watching, yet a lot of hemp are natural occurrences of monoecious plants, bearing flowers of both sexes. While some are not, that's been our experience growing several different hemp plant varieties.

Cannabis is a complex plant when it comes down to segregating all the goodness from it.

Can say taking too many CBD capsules (chronic pain), loose stools has occurred along with lower INR viscosity in blood, taking 'blood thinner'. Just have to find a happy medium.
