We have the knowledge to lead the world in being nice and actually improving things for everybody. Not just us. The fact that as adults most people cannot grasp this is terrible. Mostly too concerned with an economy to have a good strong look at reality.

Every single nation can use a whole lot of improving. I still firmly believe that the USA is the greatest nation on Earth. Though I think cocaine and heroin should be legal, controlled a bit, but an adult should be able to choose to get high however they like. Sure would help with the overdoses due to fentanyl and shit.

Though not even Paraguay gives access to safe drugs so they certainly ain't better.

I also see no reason why anyone would live in the ghetto, it's more expensive than the mountains. Not much pollution in the mountains either, but I think fines for littering should be raised. :tiphat:

How are we supposed to help other countries? We give countries money as is and they still won't give their people more freedoms. Are we supposed to send in the Navy Seals to tell the Queen of England what to do? Something tells me that wouldn't be a good idea. We get enough shit for "policing' the world.

Oh yeah, I missed education. We have schools in the mountains as well, I know, I know hard to believe.

Yeah, America has its problems. Numerous are created by the person (not a leader) in the WH. Chaos, smoke screens and doesn't care about the common citizens....only himself and his lousy golf game.

Shall be an interesting 1.5 yrs. I think I'll need to find more pursuits away from TV news.

We spend immense amounts on a military and hold that record as well.

Pretty much the entire industrialized world provides universal health care.

We do not.

It's not difficult to come to the conclusion that we don't care about us.

The Civil War was our bloodiest to date.

Division still abounds.

If I ask around I will be shocked to hear other countries praising us for anything but entertainment.

I agree its nasty. The way I see it. Most of those homeless are not from those citys. They came there because its safer than where they are from. They can get food and services. They dont have to work about getting beat up by cops. I think they should ship the homeless back to their place of orgin and made those citys help feed and care for their mentally ill. The homeless probem in some places is as much about the compassion of those citys as it is the lack of it in places that are pointing fingers.

There's tons to love about America. You don't see it because you see/know what's wrong with it and focus on that.

But you do have a lot of people un jail for decades on trivial shit. 3 strikes is ridiculous.

I would love statistics on how many homeless Californians are actually residents of the state and not people who spent their last dime to move their so they can live in a tent on a sidewalk. If I were homeless in say Chicago, I'd do all I can to get to a place with better weather like Cali.
