Trick my Pod - The complete Aeroponics primer

PetFlora, you're a highly motivated spokesperson for HP aero, and I applaud your enthusiasm - that being said, you need to get with the company line of using an accumulator and a very short cycle timer.

HP aero without an accumulator is donkey balls.

Now, onto the business at hand - have 30 misters controlled by four solenoids, and my design is such that there is ~6' of tubing (and ~7 misters) after each solenoid.

I'm wondering if anyone has any links to any reasonably priced misters that won't crack at <80PSI (I run from 100-125PSI) to stop any run on that I might be experiencing.

My pump runs for 30 seconds every hour and a half, which to me indicates that I'm getting MUCH more run on than I should be.

Also thinking of upgrading to 90 misters (one per plant, and adding a couple/few more solenoids), so no run on would become even more important in that situation.

Me2 - what do you know about installing a redundant pump inline into my system? Maybe an identical pump, but with a pressure switch from 75-95PSI, just to save my ass in case pump #1 takes a shit on me?

Also Me2, I wanna design a HP aero better vertical system with you (to surround my four stacked 600s)........hit me on this site or others so we can talk some turkey.

RaviS- No Accumulator for me, but don't think me a hater. My system is for personal use 2-4 plants, moving into AFs to minimize root chamber depth and plant height issues. I am still looking for an alternative to solenoids. Check out Smart Products www.smartproducts.com They may have something.

I am compensating by placing my mist heads low aiming up. Since spittle is heavier than mist I hope most will fall while the mist rises. Seems to be working on my current grow. hth

Newest Revelation: For the last 2 grows I have been using the extreme short feed cycles achievable only with a closed system, like with an accumulator. The PRVs i tried did not help to hold pressure. I have now increased feed cycle to 4 seconds and am experimenting with increasing pause (so far 3:00, but just increased to 3:15). By aiming the heads away from the roots the spittle does not hit them. I am hoping to finally get root hairs. Time will tell.

bump! old but good thread whit lots of information , i wonder is there someone who would have experience about Oscillating Electric Solenoid Pumps what can be found by searching that word, i see couple of places and datasheet says theyr made for spraying applications, anyone have experience of these pumps, noisiness, reliableness and their mileage, they seem to cost 1/3 os the most pressure pumps i found.
