time for some soothing winters bleakness eh?
still have at least another month before it starts getting cool enough to start cutting things back, but the native desert stuff i can probably stop watering now, just in the middle of 3-4 days of rain so everything is getting a good soaking...blooms everywhere....
The whitewash will be a relief. However, theres still the light of the sun glinting off of crystal clear icicles, the play of early morning light and shadow across the face of drifted snow - it just makes me sick.
And even before that, autumn - more vibrant colors and spectacular scenery.
Id wait a bit longer to cut things back, but if I did, I wouldn't be able to get it all done. Fall cleanup, projects and winterizing doesn't leave enough time for the 100 or so beds I care for - from the size of a love seat to nearly big enough to park 2 mobile homes end to end.
Id love to see the desert in full bloom. It always looks amazing in documentaries. Bet Id become the only person to ever have an optically triggered allergic reaction if I did see it.
