Haters are the same as lovers. Good publicity or bad publicity... In the end both of them are publicity. GHS Co. offers cheap seeds and I'm ok with that.

Going back through this thread to see some of my cheese posts...
Apothecary seeds fucked over GHS with kings kush, chemdog et cetera. Highly question the trainwreck if it came from apoth probably same deal. Trainwreck is solid a line from them regardless though good pot. These beans really upset me and I took it out on GHS which maybe not entirely their fault. Cheese, Exo Cheese, SLH, Lemonskunk, and their SSH are solid as fuck and I don't doubt the real deal cheeses. These are all so good I would still to this day have 0 issues growing them. RIP Franco wish he could have read this.

Growing some WW auto fems for a friend (didn't order them, wouldn't order them) plants turned out dank as hell covered in frost. Did some research and found out these seeds were bred by Greenhouse. If these plants smoke anything like they look/smell then my friend will be very happy. Legit line I must admit. Good work, Greenhouse. Never thought I'd say that!

My GH WW experience was terrible ;\ I think I only grew out 6 though so it definitely could have been bad luck. I had one decent looking plant but it was one of the most bland tasting and smelling I can recall I have grown. My black widow experience was similar. My flying dutchmen white widow was very nice smell and taste but had a strong floral smell on top of a beautiful complex smell I can't describe and I just couldn't be bothered to keep it as a result.
My luck/experience with all the classics I have grown other than skunk and haze varieties has been sub par. When I get a chance I am definitely going to give more versions a go and maybe revisit some old to see if it was really just bad luck on low population grows.

Update
Devastating stuff. Classic old school "white" weed. Caused immediate fits of yawning. Put me down hard all night and woke up stoned. Extremely narcotic 90s weed, tastes great even before the cure. Reminds me of the White Widow I had in Amsterdam (2006). These plants were everything White Widow used to be, everything I would hope for from seeds called White Widow. The keif is amazing. Changed my mind about autos, fems, and Greenhouse all in one grow. Deepest apologies to GHS for any past criticism. My eyes have been opened. Thank you.

I had fun growing white widow about 1o years ago, but it didn't hold a candle to what we had here locally in California , no dispensary wanted it and I gave it away to a friend. Strong, but bland. I found that to be a common description of most dutch strains.

If you are from NewYork ... you may remember when green bud first hit. First it came from Hawaii, then Vermont and Humboldt in the early 80’s. I had friends importing from Ca,Vt, and Thailand. I had friends who flew to Amsterdam in 86 and brought seeds ( all North American genetics) back and it was pretty good , I spent years looking for those flavors with no success until ... I got some old cuts. The old flavors are all preserved in lines throughout the Pacific and Pacific Northwest. I would love to find something like the piney indicas we had. The best is Pure Kush, an old afghan line used for breeding. I’ve grown a bunch of seeds until I gave away all my Dutch genetics. Between Overgrow and other sites, the seeds and cuts I got were just better than the Dutch stuff or Seedbanks. A lot of this is personal taste but White Widow and Herijuana were the biggest let downs. I had a great blueberry mom that was gifted and none of the B.B. seeds I grew held a candle to it. That was one of two chosen from 200 plants. Maybe you have to grow 200 or just get lucky. None of the Dutch genetics were wanted in California. Chemd all day long. Pure Kush would sell out fast. That will put you down hard and lower your IQ. Great flavor too.
I’m a personal grower now and popping seeds again. The only Dutch stuff I kept was Jack Herer. |
