Freezing spider mites outside at harvest ?
Well,, I got a case of them at harvest :(
They are starting to get some webs on a few. Im thinking about chopping, hanging outside so they get fucked up for coming here. Its winter so will a full night @ 20 deg freezing wreck the freshly harvested budz ? * maybe flash dry hang one night inside first then day 2 freeze em ?? |

You might want to verify this but I had mites a few months ago and considered freezing them.
As I recall reading, the mites go dormant in the cold, rather than die. Then, when it warms up, they become active again. I don't recall the temp range but my plants were still alive so I had limits on how cold and how long I could expose the plant without killing it..... and still kill the mite. I'm sure they die at some point but it might be a lot more than we would think. They are mighty mite little muther fuckers. |
