I haven't squished anything in a couple years, but I'm getting the itch.
Some of what I'm going to squish. Some older pictures. |

I'll run some in a few days to see how she does. Still using a hair straightener.

Somebody deleted a post between us. It was hard to decipher, at best.

Buddy picked up some name brand plates and a 20-ton H-frame - been toying around with 10-20g squishes, between 90c and 105c. Yields in the 10-15% range, increasing each squish. Definitely needs cooled to manage. I was super impressed with the flavor, tasted like the flowers smelled. I'm hoping he lets me continue to use it :-)
Moisture is a tad of a concern, higher yields with higher RH, but slightly tougher to handle. Still uncertain about the temps, and wondering if raising the temps/reducing press time is even worth it? Certainly a tastier product at lower temps, not enough of a sample to comment on the yield between low and high temps. Any tips on pressing the most manageable finished product? |

Does anyone use desiccant to remove the moisture? Does this help stabilize the extract?

Bovedas, I just got a few of higher RH than the 58 or 62 that dominate the flower smoking market and will be running some tests to see how that affects yield. Low RH definitely gives low yield, and not in a "good way" i.e. no advantage, unlike with some other extraction methods
