Good compost with a touch of molasses in a bucket with an air stone.
Bubble for 24 hours with an occasional stir and water your plants with it.

Go to Microbeman's website and read up.
Then start adjusting your brew time and doing your experimenting.
Don't overwhelm yourself.

If you have the money, invest in a recommended high power air pump from the get go. With that, I used a $15 pump for a long time and was happy enough with it.
