I bought a vial of 25 seeds of spice of life shiskaberry when it first hit the scene, long before cash crop ken and what came later.
If I had to guess, that was 1998. Shiskaberry was one of my favorite strains and my quest to find it again has been never ending LOL
I had 10 seeds left from that vial and germinated them on march 1st. Only 2 of these 18year old seeds germinated and they are happily growing in my seedling room. I'm excited.

well good luck, I too have been seeking shisk and some guy elsewhere was willing to do a trade, that was several years ago and nothing but this has always intrigued me so good luck!

I found seeds at H depot. a new listing by a company called Ustad seeds which a google-fu search reveals they have been around a while but little info on the breeder. They are described as being 2 generations from breeder steve's shiskaberry 3.
I bought 20, started germinating on march 1st. 8 popped, 7 survived, rest are still soaking but doing nadda. one of the 7 seedlings is runty but shows obvious crystal formations on the edges on the first leaves. I'm a skeptic till I grow it out..... and I am intimately familiar with "OG" shiskaberry (for lack of a better term)
will grow them out with the two surviving original spice of life/breeder steve shiskaberry seeds that popped. I did nothing special, just a shot glass, water from my well (high in cal/mag), ph adjusted to 6.3
so we'll see, I am seeing some vigour in those vintage seeds

as for the spice of life stuff, back in the late 90's , early 2000's , breeder steve's stuff was what the folks around here call true fire. killer weed all around and excellent germ rates in the strains we tried (buying 100 seeds at a time on average back in the day)

Well I did have blue sat, maybe still do, and certainly others, as freebies and maybe one or 2 purchased... I kept bad records, I have several clones from where I don't know where they originated, but they could have been Long Peaks Blue or several old SOL strains... I think I have BS 2 or Dj Old blueberry or whatever, but I hope others will show promise as I think I will find a way to mess it up... But have grown 10 plus year old seeds no problem and even 15 plus not sure if herb or vegetable but yeah age alone is not an epic obstacle, i should know! best of luck to all!
