as for pheno hunting;
ya 3 times should do it, i usually narrow it down the first time around, cull the obvious. then do 2 (at least) more runs to really test it.
sometimes i test phenos as seed runs, (as mothers) to see how they act when pollinated, how they smell when pollinated. how they grow when flipped early (small, 18 inches or less)

also i like to run males side by side all the way thru flower ( sometimes only to 5 or 6 weeks which is often enough to get the idea) to see how they act in bloom before deciding which one to use.

damn, 3 times huh? I like your idea for the males, I will try this next time I hunt. I really wanna focus on whats inside of what I have now, try to figure out what terp & cannabinoid % they are at...

3 times, one to cull, 1 or 2 (or more) to find the true keeper of the bunch.
also depends how MANY you are working with, 3 runs should do if you are choosing from 20-30 or less females ime. working with more than 20-30 you might need more time, separate locations/spaces or multiple pheno hunting "sessions" with 30 or so each, then putting the keepers head to head.

Sounds right man, It makes sense to get another spot for hunting/breeding only. Plant count sucks around here and I'm always giving plants away to stay legal..It sucks to toss/give away the males now, I have yet to grab pollen and mix anything up yet, now that I know what to do.

I usually dont have more than 25 phenos at a time, I'd like to get it up to at least 50 next time. Last time I did a double run(bodhi,karma,reserva privada,conn.genn), I had really similar results and still went with my first choice(sky lotus #4)

Let me know if you ever get into testing Miles, this is my next adventure with cannabis, testing my own and becoming my own lab. I want to be able to use different additives/supplements/lighting and test the leaves/flower in controlled enviroments to see what boosts/slows terpene production.
