He's in Namibia, which complicates travel further. From SA I'd be looking at between aprox. $950-1500 for a return ticket, economy class. I have friends in Amsterdam, so accommodation wouldn't be an issue. I'm hoping to attend an HTCC event in 2014 or 15, in the interest of meeting some of you IC folks and encouraging you to invite me to the 420!

Yea its bit of a penny, guess am used to it. I travel between s.a and london often and ticket return is usually no less than 900 US$.. And direct flights from Namibia are looney! but this https://www.southafrica.to/bookings.php is a great site for tickets from around these parts, and indeed Ive been advised on airbnb before.

Will know by march next year if am going, that's if it will still happen next year. Will leave the thread intact as is.

Lool, my bad guys, one zero to many in one of those amounts. its 450U$ which is about 4500 Rands /Namibian dollars (same exchange rate), not 4500US$ which would be a really ridiculous amount for a ticket.

lol ok now i can see it, still not cheap, but sounded crazy before, lol.

i do hope there will be an official cup again in April, but even if no official event is organized there will be a get together for sure, there always is.
