I don't know if this is the right spot for this post, but I just spent $511 dollars on a new bulb and co2 equipment. All im lacking is the grommet for my RDWC setup. was looking for 2in bc I was thinking about just connecting 3-30 gallons totes together.

my local hardware store only sells the small ones like 1/2in or 3/4 in. ive looked online and all I can see is 2in bulkheads. so does anyone know any websites I can try to order these off of? thanks guys.

Google uniseals. widely used in aquaculture of all sorts.

yeah I saw those, but those arnt the same shape as a rubber grommet right? the uniseals require silicon, do they?

No. The hole size needs to be fairly precise & smooth edged, with some kind of very thin layer of lubricant used on the pipe for insertion. Aquarists use vegetable oil. Silicone spray works well in other applications. The pipe expands the uniseal to seal the hole. Pipe ends are best smoothed & beveled a bit.

Alternatively, "aquarium bulkhead fittings" can be used at higher cost. Most are ABS vs PVC, some have glue sockets, some have screw fittings or gaskets like sink drains where the pipe mates to the fitting. Google it up.

Never use PVC glue on ABS.

uniseals with a flat surface container like a rubbermaid not a 5 gallon bucket that has the curvature.

cutting the tips of the pvc at a 45 degree angle helped immensely with putting together the system + LUBE... petroleum jelly works like tits.
