While there may be differing opinions on Lactobacillus, I still wanted to provide an easy to understand guide that explains how simple the process is and how to utilize the resulting bacteria...
*Images will be posted later. For now this is just the rough guide.* Objective: Accelerated Composting Step 1 1/4c rice to 1/2c (4oz) water (de-chlorinated) Shake mixture to leech starch (sugar) as this will be the food source. Strain liquid into glass jar, leaving air space, cover with cloth and let rest in a dark, warm place for 3-5 days. Step 2 Using only the middle liquid layer (avoiding the top "scum" and bottom sediment) and combine with milk at a 10:1 ratio; in this example 2 1/2c (20oz) milk to 1/4c (2oz) rice wash. Cover loosely and let rest in a dark, warm place for 7-9 days. Step 3 Separate cheese / curd layer off top. The liquid layer below is the desired result; strain into a container for storage. The "serum" must be refrigerated at this stage and should be used within 1 year for guaranteed results. 3a. To store outside of a refrigerated area, simply mix 1:1 with unsulphured molasses. This can be stored and used for up to a year for guaranteed results. HOW TO USE Dilute either version at a 20:1 ratio, water (de-chlorinated) to lacto serum, or roughly. 2-4 tbsp per gallon. Can be used as a foliage spray or soil / compost drench. dank.Frank
