Sorry if this is a intrusion...I respect Koot and he's a great plant guy and kept SOl alive in the after math...so just talkin here and hope its kewl..
but I hardly ever have autos...and never seen SPG, Swt or hybs auto either...and thats even runnin out a SPG/Haze strait out of the rockies..I had a cherry ak47 do that and a few others before tho..solved here by a slightly higher ratio of N in my nute formula as P can trigger flowering in any light cycle...and a lower more stable pH range..
I'd check you pH and P ratio in your mix...Lights will trigger sure but shouldn't be that easily triggered...SPG was quite stable from what Ive known of her...I'd check your checks before you cash them...
keep rollin

I'd be interested in his view indeed GS bro..also I'd bet Chimera is open to the idea that its all still evolving no matter whats been done or said before?....
But Im not guessing on this..and Ive done it a few times as my 3xBMoonshine will also auto but not cause of any reason other than pH/diet imbalance...its just what it is...I'd put my dinky rep on it..and wouldn't of suggested a bad fix...Autos are serious tho so Im not taking it lightly to advise either..I always support the genetics and really feel its Us that have the issues..heh...

But it was only a suggestion and he might try it....he might like it....I can dig up pics of SPG/haze and a few others...like a very SPG dom Swt#3..as Swt#1 was still a bit weird...but #3 was damn close to true SPG IME...just talkin shop tho..keep rollin

Sounds doubtful its the same plant THC. Peace GS
Sorry guys with all due respect i have the sol cut and the weed is very recognizable aroma and looks wise and here it does not auto. I have a maniacal sense of smell and i dont even need labels to recognize my strains.

I also smoked her tears ago before i got her as a mom. Its opne of those strain s you can recognize in a dozen.

Like amnesia sssdh , sour bubble spg all very very specific smells

I feed them organic npk pellets high in N

I havent had them in the same pot for 3 years though about every 6 months i clone all my moms and flower them outdoors or throw them away

But i have never had her go auto on me

I feed them a little spoon of lime and a soupsoon of culterra npk pellets 10-6-8 every month

Here a picture of her in the greenhouse, she purples up with cold and has a very unique smell

From everything I have heard about SPG, it pre-flowers heavily. I don't like to call it auto flower because it doesn't flower completely. I also hear that the pre-flower trait will sometimes come out in crosses and especially in back crosses.

Also, I would certainly trust Chimera and GS about this. I am pretty sure they both got the cut directly from the breeder.

croniholic is right, technically it is not autoflowering but root restriction sensitive.. not everyone likes this trait but I do because it can be very useful in breeding early outdoor strains, and I have a few plants with this trait that I keep around for this purpose.. timewarp is another one.. they can be manipulated to grow normally for longer than normal with the right nutrient ratios, especially phosphorus levels.. the key is to keep the phosphorus as low as possible and use primarily the nitrate form of nitrogen and not the ammonia form so much, keep the calcium on the very high side and make sure there is ample potassium and trace minerals.. also helps to foliar with growth plus 1-2x per week @ 10ml/litre..

Im down with the root binding view...that makes plenty of sense..Chimera or any of the older guru's should be helping..Im just talkin shop here guys...
I was just going off of others Ive had as well..But I do know SPG cause I hate the actual fruit itself..So growing the bud is a similar repulsion to me..making it easy for me to isolate..heh...
The effect is a damn nice..mellow and smooth smoke..I have a nice pic os a SPG dom Haze hyb but its in the data base..but heres a SPG dom Swt#3 I had for a while to..its very perty weed to...enjoy it

ive noticed many outdoor strains up here have that trait . c-warp likes to flip when rootbound as well unless i keep her under floro.

i have to ask have you actually found any success in breeding with the spg into outdoor strains? everything ive grown outside with grapefruit in the genes suffered major losses due to bud rot. ive come in to cut down a site and the plants looked like big grey furry rats on sticks :(

I heard that about SPG a long time ago.. never tried her or any of her hybrids outdoors.. butterscotch hawaiian which has about 10% SPG does have some individuals with root restriction sensitivity, must be coming from the sweet tooth in there..
