hahahahahahahahaha..... no way, DD.

I have BEEN RANTING about this now for two weeks as I try to hunt down a gas can for the lawn mower...I've been wondering the same damn thing...why don't the make a DECENT FUNCTIONING gas can spout. I broke down a bought one of those Blitz cans ... and YEAH... WTF is the stupid @#!%^ piece of no good for nothing...who came up with that truly IMPOSSIBLE to operate design...not to mention you damn near need to have finger tips made of steel to not cause soft tissue damage while holding the slide in place - while pouring gasoline all over because you can't bend over to two inches from the mowers tank in order to actually keep the spout open..

WHAT A JOKE....It was all I could do no to destroy the thing in a fit of how the hell does stupid shit like this even make it into production. Forgive me...but a small part of me DOES blame China (only as a host) and the ever increasing need to drive up profits. More and more stupid, ill-fitted CHEAP PRODUCTION designs of things that used to work PERFECTLY FINE and actually used to last...

I can't stand assemby directions written in pictographs and hierographs, plastic bags with suffacation warnings, not to mention the label on Mama's hairdryer not to use in the shower.

Unlike can #1, you can store cans 2 & 3 near the gas water heater in the garage. That is ingenuity at work.

$67.00 (free shipping) on Amazon, they also list several steel gooseneck funnels which are very handy to have considering the way they almost hide transmission fill tubes in autos these days.

After my back surgery I gave away my collection of Jerry Cans. Big mistake. I bought some plastic ones several years ago with spout #3. What a f*cking abomination these pieces of sh*t are. Absolutely worthless, actually worse than that. I recently bought a small can with spout #2 for my weed whacker and chainsaw. Once I got the hang of it, the thing works pretty good. A big improvement on spout #2.

I think a big part of these designs is to automatically close so that the volatiles don't evaporate off into the atmosphere. It sucks, but then I remember what the smog was like in Los Angeles in the 1960's before they put vapor capture systems on all the gas pump nozzles.

Every day our government is thinking of new ways to keep us safe, yippie! What they are really doing is sitting back in their easy chairs laughing their asses off after conjuring up ways to frustrate us! Period!

TAKE FOR EXAMPLE...

These new gas can spouts that we are told "safeguard our environment". What F'n genius dreamed these things up? I bet there was a government study, that cost millions, grants given out to companies that manufactured these things, that cost millions, and all for what?
These spouts are useless. I'm 57 , EDITED I'm 58 the wifey reminds me, and I've spilled more gas using these this year alone than in the past 35 years combined with my old trusty five gallon "Jeep" can and it's spout, can #1.

Is it just the Doobster or do you guys have issues with these?

So let's hear it old timers, got anything on your mind? Post the new fangled objects that you think our government should have left be, left alone. We don't need pix, just tell us how friggin frustrated you are with this scenario. Please vote..it's a private poll.
I was so frustrated I took the time to shoot the pix n bitch...your turn..thanks, Yours truly Frustrated-Duck

Can #1 my old 5 gallon can and spout that may drip a drop or two when you tip it clear upside down to drain out the very last out of it...but that's it, you can see what's coming out when doing small engines.

View Image

Can #2 ..the idiot that dreamed this up should be shot, who the F can hold a full 5 gallon can up in the air and still be able to use two hands to run this ridiculous spout? My wifey won't use it..she said throw it the F away-she actually wanted to kill me for buying it. Honey it's all they got!!

View Image

Can #3...this over flowing piece of shit..did they EVER try and fill a lawn mower with this thing before approving it-I think NOT? This thing overflows at the rate some service station pumps could not match. And god help the kid that starts his mower with puddles of gas on the deck of it. God help our wild life and plants if these are everywhere. Gallons of gas have gone on my lawn, driveways, all in the name of "safety"...

Don't attempt to re-fuel a hot engine, do they actually know how long that is? That ^ skull and cross bones represents our planets future if this thing stays around!
Duck, Takes about 20 minutes to gut those fancy nozzles with a stanley knife and a drill but Timmy at my local saw shop started sellin' yellow and blue 2-1/2 and 5 gallon "water cans" with spouts that behaved. I should mention that it is likely tampering with the workings of one of these "safe" nozzles is prohibited by somebody.....got some things to talk about.here beside the rising tide.
