ph 8 is the cause of deffiency. 5.5-6.5 is more optimal. try adding precise amounts of nitric acid to your water before watering your loved ones.

It might be hard to get the pH right when watering with pH 4. It could drop lower than desired but also it might work really well. The alternative is to flush the medium with large amounts of water with pH 6.0 a couple times over a week or so and keeping an eye on the pH in the run-off water. When pH starts to coming close to desired level nutrients should be added.
