Yes you can smoke early bud, and all the leaves.
Every year I cut off the little buds and leaves that block sunlight and smoke them all up
It gives me a good idea of how the finished product is gonna be like and how good I've grown so far. You can tell a lot about your plant this way.

Doesn't everyone? Even when I trim really good I still have leaf matter, and it's not just straight calyx's. I smoke that still.
My leaves aren't harsh and get me pretty high. I can taste the flavor, potency and burn consistency by smoking popcorn buds or leafs.
Maybe I'm just weird but the point of the topic is if you harvest early, you will still get high.
