Question about Zamaldelica

I am currently doing research around my first sativa grow and have a question about the Zamaldelica line.

What really drew me to the zam was that it is a 3 way cross between 3 different strains. This sounded ideal to me as there will be lots of different plants to sort through.

Dubi mentioned in a recent thread that the most recent offering was bread more towards the original zamal strain.

My question is will I still see a variety of thai and malawi leaning plants? Or should I go with something like the golden tiger?

Hopefully Dubi will pop up and answer your question, but my guess would be the Zamaldelica still has a wide variety a phenotypes. I would go for it :)

EDIT: actually, I am also going for it :D Grew the fem already, planning a regular grow later this year.

Welcome bushed,

Zamaldelica original standard release was an unstabilized poly hybrid between a pure Zamal mother and a Golden Tiger (Malawi/Thai) F1 dad. That's why there was quite variability in the first release: some plants were just ok, others exceptional, most of them very firm in sex, others with hermie problems, some of them with mediocre terpene profile, others very refined ... it's a work in progress that needs lots of selection to find those special plants with a perfect balance of the best traits from these great 3 sativas.

Fortunately, we have found exceptional Zamaldelica females coming from the first release that are preserved in the mother room and that have been inbred to produce lately improved Zamaldelica versions.

At the same time we are just finishing a new Zamaldelica standard reproduction, where all the new non hermie parental females from seed have been open pollinated by different selected males, in order to open and preserve the different interesting genetic combinations in the F2 generation, just to make sure we are not missing other interesting combinations of traits.

So to answer your question, Zamaldelica standard versions are more variable, you will find more extremes in the expressions, and are maybe more interesting if you want to play with the variability of the hybrid.

The feminized version is less variable and involves lesser different parental plants.

In my opinion, an outstanding Zamaldelica parental plant should have a very refined terpene profile of tropical fruits and sweet carrot juice, very high resin production, great bag appeal, great vigour, great mold resistance, good flower density, moderate flowering time (10-11 weeks from clone), hermie free, good indoor adaptability, desirable bushy structure, very high THC ratio (over 20%) without CBD, and most important, an exceptional sativa effect: very motivational/uplifting effect or extremely psychedelic.

We have many Zamaldelica lines at different stages, so feel free to pm me or email me to choose the one is more convenient for your goals.
