False seed pods?

This is my first female plant I've managed to get, and am thus super excited. However, I've noticed what look like the beginning of seeds! These were taken today, day 17 of 12/12. This little branch was taken from down by the screen.

I don't know how this could happen, there is only one plant! I have yet to see a single male flower anywhere, so I don't think it hermied. Are these just false seed pods that are full of THC and they just happen to really look like seeds? Or could the plant somehow have self seeded itself? Maybe there is a male flower somewhere that I missed. All the buds still look good though, so maybe I'm worrying for nothing?

Here are some other budshots of the plant; they seem to be fine?

sorry bud, but you've got a hermie....

that first pic is a pre-mature male flower for sure.

since you only have one plant going, I'd let it finish, but you will have a partially (if not fully) seeded crop.

and when it's done and harvested clean your grow area with bleach water to kill any lingering pollen.

To reduce the ammount of seeds you get, pluck off the male flowers as they appear, but that will be a full time job towards the end of flowering if you have a full-blown hermie on your hands.

I'm sorry, but I don't see where you are seeing a male flower? I'm pretty fucking good at spotting male flowers, I've had male plants before this one. I've gone over my entire plant with a 4x magnifying glass. Are you looking at that cluster to the left and slightly below the pod? That was a fan leaf that I pinched off to take a better pic of the pod.

you might be right but this thing sure looks like a male pre-flower to me

No, I dont' think so, those are the very pods I was questioning! If you look at the second picture, there is another pod exactly like that one, except it still has the two female hairs poking out. I can actually pull those little pods out and look at them real close; and they are like little semi-clear donut holes.(they look nothing like a male flower) When I squeeze them they kind ooze a little bit of clear jelly.(immature resin?)

I think this website might have allayed my fears though as it seems to describe whats going on exactly.

I guess sometimes the calyxes just really look like a seed? I don't know, I'm still slightly worried. I don't want any seeds in my first harvest!

an easy way to see if there is any pollen in those pods is to pluck one off and chew on it a little, the pollen is very gritty and easy to identify in the mouth.

Good luck, whatever they are....?

Since you are only 17 days into flower that is a male pre-flower. Calyx's start to swell and look like seeds pods as the plants matures and is near harvest. Since you are only day 17 in flower and not at the end of flowering, that unfortuantly is a male pre-flower

yeah keep in mind the true match to the description of 'false seed pods' is not male preflowers or flowers for that matter. false seed pods are actually what you want.. they refer to the non-pollenated calyxs on a female bud. when they catch pollen they become seeded pods.

i'd say rip it off if its your only one and you don't have any other plants to fall back on or start up. hope for the best. i found zero male flowers on a girl i grew from bagseed but the buds had some seeds in them. there is really nothing you can do except watch the plants super carefully for new signs and rip them off before they can fully develop

They're nirvana blue mystic, I got them from gypsy nirvana. I've eaten like 5 different buds (little secondary growths down at the screen that i pruned) and I've yet to taste or see any pollen. They are juicy with a mild sweet taste that is actually quite pleasant. The only thing I can really do is just keep growing it and keep an eye on it.

How could it be a male flower when it is a single round pod that is semi-clear and filled with juice/gel? Male flowers are more elongated and they split open into a bunch of different segments. They're also definitely not juicy and have pollen in them.

I'll probably be able to prune off some more fluff stuff tonight, so I'll see if I can get some more pictures.

it sure does look freaky, ime freaks would sometimes be hermies, but not always
btw. i've seen single male bananas in female flowers and vice versa on hermies

i never gave a male plant a bj so i wouldn't know how pollen tastes :D

When it was a seedling, the cotyledons and first true leaves were all mutated and curled, and then after that it started growing normally. So it is a bit of a freak! I hope it will be an awesome one though. I had one other blue mystic(turned out to be male), and the freak one was growing twice as fast; it's stem was twice as thick. I still have high hopes for it.
