To lump gay people with pedophiles is incorrect. Those priest are pedophiles. Micheal Jackson for instance could have gotten a guy friend or a girl friend but he chose some thing sick and harmful. I have nothing but empathy for the people who suffer at the hands of pedophiles. I under stand its could be called a homosexual act but that even a stretch.

I didn't say or imply that all gay people are pedophiles. I was talking about priests/brothers, many of whom were/are pedophiles, especially @ the school I went to. The thing is, the Catholic church knew about this for a long time, and protected these priests, in effect saying, "it's O.K. if you molest children, we will cover it up". Things have changed. The new Pope has acknowledged this problem, and he is doing something about it. The Catholic church has paid countless millions in settlements to those who were abused. There are still priests who are known pedophiles, and they have been removed from contact with any potential victims, and isolated. However, they avoided prison, which would have been the punishment if you or I were convicted of the same crimes.

Hello was just wondering if anyone else is or has been going through severe depression? I have always been kind of down on myself since i was very young and i once was able to be happy at times i now find myself in a constant state of deep depression and then when my mom died earlier this year i just went over the cliff and seem to only be hanging on by a mere thread.

I have become a full blown alcoholic and am not capable of taking care of my self at certain times. I lost the passion for growing only for it to come back a little but i lost the strains that i had for years so i gave it all up.

Thankfully i have savings from over the years to support me now because i don't really get much done anymore. I lost contact with all former friends and family and it seems like all i do now is sleep or try to sleep. I sometimes try to reflect on how my life went so sour but it is what it is.

Don't drink alcohol. This stuff has pretty much ruined my life.

AlcohoL causes depression.Stop feeling sorry for yourself and quit the booze.

when you have a country/society that promotes/encourages alcohol and condemns cannabis, it's sort of a challenge to go agains't mainstream

hi all and thanks for this thread. Just finished reading all of it and appreciate the sharing. My own life has been one filled with depression since a child. Might have bipolar but never diagnosed such. Been on various depression meds most of life and none worked what would say really well.

Just started smoking mj again since last stopped in 85. However, in the last couple months have noticed an improvement in quality of sleep and my outlook. Plus just finished my first grow and found it relaxing and something to look forward to each day as I'm home bound and only drive maybe 2x month. I am alone without friends or close family having various medical conditions causing a decline in my health and a disability leaving me unable to work.

I do not advocate taking rx meds instead of mj nor taking mj only since there are different causes of depression. Some types are caused by something bad happening to you then there are other types not caused by external events and it comes seemingly from nowhere. It helps I think to know some anti-depressants require weaning off instead of just stopping cold otherwise can cause you trouble.

Over a year ago I found myself feeling was becoming demented. Was taking a bad combination of drugs for various medical conditions and slowly stopped all of them. Found a site and got some good info and protocol on a leading edge iodine therapy. Found out I was fluoride and bromine toxic and how to reverse it with iodine and related co-factors supplementation. And how to stop taking that shit in to begin with. Bromide is used as a fire retardant and we are exposed to it every day. Also in the USA it is in our flour. If your body is poisoned with toxics having a positive mental attitude and thinking good thoughts only goes so far.

Packaging fluoride and bromine into rx meds should be outlawed...And they are in the EU but not USA. Fluoride causes mental confusion and dementia like symptoms. It is in Prozac and many other rx meds. Bromide is what Hitler used in concentration camps in wwII. Bromide is found in many hand held neutralizer type meds and common household flour here in the USA. It helps to know what rx meds and other things contain these and avoid them if at all possible.

http://curezone.info/forums/f.asp?f=815. There is also a depression section on that site.

So over a year now, like 18 months, and have much less confusion, better memory, increased sex drive, much less agitation, more energy and feel alive again even though still home bound with my other medical problems. Clearly, iodine saved my life.

If saying good things to yourself, having a positive mental attitude helps with your mood I am really glad for you. For those folks it don't help... don't give up. Depression can be a complex issue so love yourself enough to spend the effort and time to study up and give yourself the best chance. I know it is much easier to simply trust your doctor and take what he thinks or do bong hits to oblivion. I'm all for finding a doctor you can trust and I'm all for bong hits so don't get me wrong. but all I'm saying is give yourself an edge by learning somethings and talking with your doctor first before taking his pills.

To many people want to take some thing to feel better and that's it. No life change. Just do the same lazy thing over and over and expect a different result????

Positive living is way to much work.

Great thread and its subject is something to not be taken lightly . I am a firm believer in meditation being medication for the mind . No mantra needed or any belief , just a dedicated time twice daily for mental cleansing and rest .

I don't have time to meditate twice a day. I have to get up at 4 am in the morning for a 2 hour commute ,work a stressful job then 2 hours home. make dinner, clean, go shopping, take care of my garden. I was meditating with a Rodney yee dvd for meditation and conscious breathing sometimes at night when i had time, until I realized it wasn't helping me relax at all. Sleepness nights after I thought I followed it very well as instructed... It was later brought to my attention that there are 2 types of meditation and one actually pumps you up. I cant remember the details but there should be awareness that not all meditation is good for rest and calming the mind. The only thing that works for me is having a good allotment of time set aside to do my artwork when im stoned.

Art is a great therapeutic activity. It can centers the soul. Meditation could be a dun in a hot bath or in the shower. Coffee is a killer.

I find breathing exercises help calm my mind.

In through the nose for 7 second count

Hold for 2 seconds

breath slowly out the mouth your entire lungs full in 8 seconds.

repeat for 30 minutes in a comfortable quiet room

edit- yes i agree with above, yes flouride does suck!

Borderliner,

Welcome to IC!!

I have done US bong, one hits since 1983. Coughed up crap every day. Switched to Arizer extreme-q vape, which has adjustable temperature. THC is consumed, but no smoke, or crap in your lungs.

I have no connection to them, but love the product, and the benefit to my health.

This topic is extremely delicate. Calling somebody who is feeling down "lazy" will not bring there self esteem up and probably worsen it. I please urge people that if they don't have positive advice to not respond.

I have lots of experience with this topic first hand and also grew up with someone who is mentally ill.

There are situations where prescription pills do help and are completely necessary.

Some forms of depression, I found, can be 'holistically' healed. For some people, forcing yourself to be social through group activities can be very beneficial. If you tell someone to meditate for instance, that doesn't find it meditation motivating, will likely further try to give up.

Find something motivating that you "always wanted to do" and say screw it and just do it! $150 a month on a group class is nothing when your mental health is at risk. Being happy is priceless! It can be a little scary putting yourself in a group of new people, but most people involved with such activities are very welcoming. Just give them a call and see what they have to say.

It's priceless to be happy. Being happier leads to motivation, which leads to bettering yourself.

Activities I am speaking about include;
exercise boot camps
general exercising (better to not self isolate though)
martial arts
meditation
fishing boats
legal car racing
meditation
arts and crafts
sight seeing
traveling
winter sports!!
anything that you find interesting, or have wanted to always do

Remember change is good! Utube videos of such activities can be very motivational.

Martial arts is one of the best. It is usually misperceived as being 'hardcore'. There is a martial art for every person and personality type. Everything from Karate to street style self defense with sparring. You can learn to be a ninja, become a sword fighting expert, or even learn a pressure point based style of self defense which anybody can do. I'm sure at one point in your life you found one to be 'cool'. Most have free trials.

Most of these group activities are a great place to also meet positive people who also feel great after the activity and would like to hang out. Some people join to meet other people.

The worst thing you can do is isolate yourself. The best thing you can do is surround yourself with positive people. Negativity does wash off onto you, as well as positivity. I cut negative people out of my life and have no regrets.

One more thing that I believe is really important is your current job. Ask yourself, are you actually happy there? Would you rather have less money and be happy elsewhere? I think that is a topic many are in denial about.

Feel free to PM me if you just want to chat or need some help or advice.

This. I stopped reading after the 1st page or so of OP's suicidal bs. You'll get no sympathy from me drinking yourself to death, been there tried that it don't work. OP belongs in a psych ward not a weed forum and half of ya'll are just enabling him by swimming in his sea of sorrow. Alcohol is an absolutely shocking drug and is directly related to depression. Seriously everyone, stop with the booze and you'll be alot happier.

I wasn't going to post my thoughts but then i changed my mind and i did.

Drinking is exactly another act that's drives you down into a hole. Not just being dependent on booze but that it causes sever Depression.
The drinking the caffeine and bad eating habits lead to longer deeper depressive states. Then Ohh I dont feel good get me some antidepressants to fix the problem.

Eliminate the bad and add the positive. There is plenty of info at your finger tips.
