FOXFARM OR GENERAL ORGANICS

Hey all, looking to purchase a starter kit on amazon...

Foxfarm Dirty dozen starter = $105

General organics Go box starter = $40

Is there much difference between the two? Which do y'all recommend?

Fox Farms products are a bit overpriced and last I knew they drug tested all employess - General Hydrponics is probably no better in this aspect but they have a better selection and much better retail pricing .. On the other hand FF can be found at Ace Hardware for those looking to pick up grow products without heading to a hydro shop.

Neither.. No offense to foxfarm or general organics,, this is just my opinion,, don't mean shit..
BUT I've tried both. Foxfarm was good, when it was good. Now it's different. Seems like one second everything is good, next second u will have salt buildup out of this world.. anyhow it was a poo ain for me in Promix. Way too salty,, doesn't flush out well..
General organics is decent but it attracted too many bugs,, aphids love the shit.. plus some batches were inconsistent also.. I once got a gal. of the calmag that was spoiled or something,, smelled like rotten vinegar, and it nearly wiped out my veg room.. I do love they're bioroot tho,, it's awesome for seedlings..
All in all,, for an awesome bottled nute line on the cheap,, look into botanicare kind series.. best thing I've tried so far for the price..

i like foxfarms if done properly.. but gen organics is great too. i think its more personal preference then anything.. each nute will produce a little different results.. wether its structure related. yield related ..smell and taste related..

wen i get in my new place. im going to have a fox farms room.. and a bio canna room.. i have strains that do better with biocanna. and others that do better with foxfarms.. so i figure.. why not make them both do best by splitting rooms. im also going to put 1 of each in the other room.. so i can show the difference that the nutrients played.

Not sure if you have experienced the "joys" of running a business yet and hiring employees. Call me a hypocrite but i will be doing tests on the next person i have to employ.

I'm not really concerned about mj....its the umpteen other things. I'm not a hard ass but showing up late to work every day, four hours late on weekend project that's going to take every bit of the weekend to complete is just not cool. Hiding out in the bathroom so much so that it becomes a running joke with the customer is not very cool either. Some people cant handle their shit.

Ive done a majority of everything under the sun, lived thru an obscene FL rave culture in the 90s. I'm sure the Dr.'s will have get a laugh at my autopsy one day. But if your not smart enough to clean up for a couple weeks or beat a drug test with fake piss, then i really don't need your help.

im not exactly sure whats in the foxfarm pack specifically but you really dont need all that shit. theres no need to use their solubles in conjunction with tiger bloom big bloom and grow big you will fry the shit out of your plants. Dont get me wrong I use fox farm products. I love Ocean forest and the cha ching, beastie and open sesame but even that alone is enough to over nute your plants if you follow their recommended dosage

Haven't used FF, but GO is foolproof. Follow the feed chart and use everything on it. And note the chart says to double the bloom for heavy feeding plants. Plants always healthy. That bit about attracting insects is poppycock. Coincidence. Probably would have had the same insects on that crop regardless of what was used. And anytime you buy a gal of a nute it may have been on the shelf for a long time. Good luck. -granger
