First Grow Journal: Bodhi's RKU

Hey guys and gals, I'm new here but I have been growing for about a year now and I now feel comfortable/confident enough to make a journal. I don't want to be one of those guys that starts a journal and doesn't finish... If you want to know more about me personally, then feel free to go back and read my introduction post a few weeks ago (https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=290972)

Anyways, here's a little more about the actual grow...

unfortunately, I am not starting this journal from seed, I germinated 6 Roadkill Unicorn seeds a few months back and the results were as follows: 1 that never came up, 4 males, and 1 female.

(back plant is the seedling and front is the clone that I took early)


I am not too impressed by this plants characteristics yet... it's kinda slow vegging, doesn't branch well, when topped the side branching is pretty spindley... Don't take that as a bashing on bodhi and his gear, everything I've grown grown from him has been top notch, so I'm sure the flowers will be amazing

now the specs everyone is really here for...
Genetics: Bodhi's Roadkill Unicorn
Light: veg: trying the new advanced LED. Flower: 1kw HPS
Soil: my own recipe of organic "super soil"... promix base.
Pot size: 5gal
Room size: 4'x4'

I will probably let them veg for another week or so and then throw them into flower.

also, if anyone has ever grown or smoked this strain, I would love your opinion on it.

Dinafem White Widow:

I ordered G13's WW because I heard good things about it, Attitude sent me Dinafem's instead... they sent me the g13 ones as well, but this looks like it's going to be pretty good too!

Bodhi's Dream Lotus:

One of my all-time faves. Almost done!

Rku is a nice strain. The ones I've had were small bushes with great structure tho.

good smoke, like smoking a mammuth the purple unicorn leaning one, and the other green pheno with same structure was more heady, better imo, but had crazy herm problems like I've yet to see

popping the rest of the pack to find same pheno without herm. Now I have one slower more spindly looking one like you are talking about, don't think this will be kept.

Bodhi rocks, but takes some digging to find the ultra phenos, which are always there

Thank you for your response Clouds^2... it's been a while since I've updated this but today I actually put the plant into flower. I vegged it under a new 300w LED system and it absolutely took off.

I had some mite problems in one of my tents, so I let it veg a lot longer than I normally would but I think it's going to yield really well... but requires SO much training and not good if height space is limited.

I have a small clone of the same plant in flower right now... I had a pretty incredible looking Blue Tara male, so I crossed it with this RKU for shits... that plant is about 4 weeks in, and this RKU strain is purple-ing up really nicely.

as I've said, I don't think I will be running this particular pheno again, but i took a ton of clones just in case... I popped some of the Blockhead BX and hoping for good things.

RKU Flowering Day 1:

Right now the plant is sitting under a mars2 1200 by itself for the most part. This is also my first flowering cycle with LED, I'm excited to see how it fairs.


RKU(F) x Blue Tara (M):

I hope the momma turns purple like that, and I hope the purpling wasn't just due to it being pollinated.

I did a little spring cleaning today and replaced my last HPS with another LED panel. Things have been crazy lately with all the different upgrades, really bad pollination problem that may not have turned out to be so bad... except for the long down time.

So I took a clone early from the mom(in flower now) and flowered it early to see what to expect.... well I'm pretty pleased with how resinous this plant is, it is on par with the Dream Lotus I have. The plant smells absolutely horrible, the strain name holds true, it smells like a roadkill skunk. I love it.
I'm just hoping that the hermies don't come crawling out.

Thank you! It smells pretty terrible and it's not even that deep into flowering... I hope it doesn't herm on me!

Hey Hemp, of course I don't mind at all that you follow, that's what these forums are for! thank you very much for the compliments of my plants! I hope they stay healthy... first time I'm running this strain!

That dream lotus is by far the best smelling/tasting/producing plant I've ever grown (which isn't saying much). I can literally turn off my scrubbers and let the whole place stank to high heaven and it'll smell like blueberry muffins are in the oven (with a very mild undertone of skunk ;p). huge buds, dense and frosty as hell. Extremely sativa leaning too, great for day time smoke.

I'm relatively new to the cannabis culture. been smoking for about 2.5 years and growing for 2. I definitely prefer the fruiter/sweeter smelling stuff. Mother of berry sounds like an amazing strain. I hope you find the color and smell (and high) you're hunting for!

nice one i have hundreds of packs of beans to choose from but i mostly run clones and being from the uk i have all the cheese/blues and blue cheese cuts that there are here! ill try and get some pics into my gallery im not actually new here i asked the mods today to delete my old avi account and ive started over! so all my pics are gone but i have em on the lappy and sd cards! next in my tents is gunna be livers/blue meanie and macks blues from my uk cuts and in tent#2 im running stardawg/whitedawg and gorilla glue#4 from my US cuts! anyway good luck with the bodhi stuff...respect......hemp!

funny you should mention cheese... Cheese is HUGE around here. everyone fiends over it. yet every time I've tried it, it's been something different.

I decided to grow out some dinafem cheese... it came out dank as fuck, but was again, different than the other "cheeses" i've come across.

by any chance, have you run/had real/OG UK Cheese? if so could you please describe the characteristics of it? I'll have to see if I have a pic of it. I only ran it once.

Hey bro yeh ya gotta love the cheese erm no not personally seen any og cheese elites at least not round my end but I do have four diff cuts of cheese myself which are Brightside cut, the nelly cut, the exodus cut and suicide cut all a little different but all bring that cheesey dank to the table like no other! I'm glad to hear it's loved over your side of the pond! Respect....
