I hooked up the SS 100 on the afternoon of 9/18

6th day update

PPMs have been ~ 200 throughout

I had to raise the light on the 19th as lower leafs were yellowing due to intensity

At that time I had 3 clones, none of which had roots after ~ 2 weeks under the 2 ufos

Reveg is doing extremely good under the SPYDR 600

Buds clusters developing all over

According to the professional smoker in the photo, my Big Mex puts the L in Loud

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Reveg update

BML SPYDR 600

this plant (BBCC) was half the size of the bigger plant (Big Mex) that I harvested 2+ months ago (first time using the S600)

Due to the size of the larger plant blocking some of the light (and being > 1ft taller) this one did not get as many umoles to the canopy, and so did not reach her full pheno potential

As you can see, she is loaded with branches and bud sites now

Bumped nutes from ~ 650> ~ 850 2 days ago

Buds are setting up nicely

Plants are doing great under the SS 100

May well be sufficient to go from it directly to the 260, making for an awesome tag team (perpetual) set up

The young plants will be ready to move under the big tents by Wednesday, or thereabout

While I would like to move the reveg under the anticipated arrival of 2 x 150s, in the 2 x 4,(thus freeing up the tent with the SPYDR 600) that tent lacks height- only 5ft tall

A draw back for F & D is the tray drain needs to be higher than the rez when full in order to drain back fully, and the rez needs to be deep enough to not go dry throughout the feed cycle

I would need to raise the 2 x 4 up 2 feet which would require ~ 2 concrete blocks per corner. Doable, but, I may just order a taller 2 x 4 tent

Pics tomorrow

This will be my last update to this thread.

I will start a new thread focusing on the Amare Technologies Solar Spec panels in the LED section

Reveg continues to stretch like a mofo

I can't raise the light any higher

Been thinking how to lower the flood tray to get more head room. Snapped a few branches, as I did first go-round

It has become obvious that as configured, there is too much red in the SPYDR600 for vegging

So, I will leave new plants under the Solar Spec panels (will have 2 @ 150 by Wednesday)

Will wait until new plants have buds set before moving one under the SPYDR

but, will likely move one plant under the 260 soon, as it has a separate red ON button

Hope to see you in the led section

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Here's an interesting observation

The dried larf from the BBCC reveg is much more potent than the previously harvested buds

Things that changed

1. I went from top feed to F & D in a small tote.

Unlike with top feed, where nutes stream down through the roots, each flood saturates the roots, then drains

2. She has the light to herself this go-round

3. I began adding HR +Size flowering amendment about a week ago

Of those 3 differences, I think the first one has the most impact

I have deleted a dozen off-topic posts which reflect a spirit of negativity and disapproval that is definitely most unwanted here at ICMag.

Further posts of such disagreeble nature will be binned.

Folks who persist in this type of behavior may be advised to place the other member who offends you on 'ignore' status so you won't be bothered by seeing anymore of the other person's posts.

Peace is the answer, and the only way to grow successfully. You can't grow good weed in a war zone. I've tried... it doesn't work.

Pre-harvest pics

Since I don't yet have a trimmer, will be taking her down little by little

Dok, I did not ask to have any more of your posts removed, so not sure what happened

We're good in my book

I think it's important for anyone reading to know you pointed out a probable nitrogen deficiency

Leafs were fine back on 10/15 pics, but we had hgh heat >93* for a month: plants were sucking mosty water leaving daily rez ppms at > 30% going from ~ 900- 1300, both of which could have contributed

I cut and trimmed half the plant today

Now that I can see the back side, it looks bigger and phatter than the front

I will definitely get a trimmer by next harvest

What is the vertical height of the trellis/cage that you made? And do you have more of those pieces to perhaps add to it to change the geometry a little? Also, what are your thoughts on reconfiguring those leds into a vertical system? The unit looks to be modular that way.

Each Cube bar is 17" on center of the balls. Stack of 2 or ~ 35" tall

The plant stretched due to the SPYDR not having separate red control switch, meaning it was on full force throughout the reveg.

The umbilicals that connect to each bar to a single Meanwell driver is too short to separate.

BML does make separate bars, each with their own PS, but they get expensive. I have 2 which have been the only light over the last 3 days

My original proposal to BML was 4 veg bars and 2 flower bars (on separate o/o switches) but that was not in the cards at that time

It's important to keep in mind BML does not offer a mj specific product at this point. They certainly have the capability to produce a fine one

I was a test bed for them. I know they are working on a SPYDR 1000 VHO.

My new veg (same seeds) under the Amare Technologies plants are shorter and bushier due to separate veg/flower o/o switches. I've been vegging under the veg lights only (white with some red). Just added the flowering reds yesterday

Amare utilizes smaller panels, which can be combined to provide even umole canopy coverage, essentially doing what the SPYDR does, but with clear secondary lenses + separate o/o switches + piggyback electric connections

This is the difference due to Amare being a mj grower who has bought many led panels, and experienced their shortcomings

I am hoping for 2 Big Mex females from the 260 vegging to do a test of Amare 260 smaller chassis (actual watts) v SPYDR 600 (~ 340 actual watts)

But BML may want their light back before I can complete it

Now, back to trimming

Just a few pics from Friday

I increased the flood time to better fill the net pots. Now seeing lots of new roots, a good sign of growth to come

The 2 sats are behind height wise, no doubt due to me intentionally keeping them small until I had both the new tents and lights

Late yesterday, I decided to turn off one SS 150 panels' whites and will alternate panels to bathe each plant in reds a few hours a day until they have a growth spurt

I also trimmed off the top node from the taller plant on the right to even up the canopy
